Following the Announcement of TORM, on October 3rd, 2026, we kicked off the campaign with our first [virtual] face-to-face meetup for this season of TRAC on Road Mapper. We came together to discuss the goal of The Campaign, learn how to utilize @MarcoDavoli’s tracking program on roaders.club, and answer any questions for the newbies to the program.
Progress tracking mechanisms and updates
Marco developed a bookmark tool to automatically sync dashboard metrics with the tracking platform.
Users must open the Dashboard on Road Mapper before activating the bookmark to ensure successful data synchronization.
Manual entry options remain available on roaders.club
Concerns About Approvals!
We discussed that approvals seem to be stalled as of August 16th. Recently, some Road Mapper users discovered that a couple of approvals were processed at the end of September, but a huge gap remains. The fact that new members were accepted into the program gives us hope that Road Mapper is still going strong and that Google is not slowing it down.
A Quick Demo
Jake showed the participants where to go to confirm access to Road Mapper. While on the Road Mapper site, we reviewed the different tabs and where to find tips and tricks. I highlighted that there are interviews with Local Guides from each of the Road Mapper countries, which give a face and a purpose to the work we’re doing.
Some Tips!
@khmansour1 gave us all reminders of some best practices for Road Mapper:
Zoom IN! Make sure you zoom all the way in to search for roads in the Challenge Screen
Be Precise! Draw roads in the center of the path, use multiple points to draw curves and corners, and use fewer points when drawing straight lines
Read The Stories! Learning from the Local Guide interviews can help to better understand the road network of a country.
A huge thank you to all of the Roaders who joined us. We had a very nice get-together to start off the frenzy that is TORM!

Yes, we notice you’re very busy nowadays @SholaIB. Thanks anyway for getting this all up and running.
This is perhaps not the correct place to ask, but do you have a nominee for the September Road Mapper thread? My mission is complete for the August run.
It was an absolute pleasure attending the virtual meet-up! Thank you, @JustJake, for hosting such an excellent session.
@MarcoDavoli, your presentation on rodardes.club was full of useful insights and informative details. I really appreciate your dedication and hard work.
For creating the Javascript bookmark you need to drag the code from roader club website to your bookmark. but for collecting the data you don’t need to drag the bookmark. Just open the dashboard and stay on it and then click on the bookmark the Javascript in the bookmark will get the data and send it to Marcho server.
Second point in my openion is I think this will work on work computer or home computer as long as you are able to open the two websites (road mapper & roader club).
Hey my friend, @JustJake you gave a great reminder for the meetup like a true friend, organized it like a great teammate, and your presentation was fantastic as always!
A perfect mix of humor, seriousness, and everything in between. You are great!
& honestly, the brainstorming was amazing too. With your style, you’re definitely America’s best talent!
@PrasadVR! It was great to see you. You are one of the original Road Mappers, and I wish we had more time to get your insights and experiences. Thanks for joining today.
How is that possible @khmansour1? If the bookmark is not dragged to the bookmark bar, it isn’t available to be clicked while on the Road Mapper dashboard. Switching tabs to click it from within the roaders.club Progress page gives the following result:
No, it will not. I tried again dragging it to the bookmarks bar, but it just sits there unresponsive when I click it. Already @MarcoDavoli knows I have to do it manually, as the functionality of his bookmarklet appears to be blocked by my work IT Department.
Thank you, @JustJake I really enjoyed being part of your Meetup. With the help of Gemini, I was able to have the conversation in Hindi during the Meetup.
I’m sharing this small video here on Connect for one simple reason, don’t let language become a barrier. Whether you speak Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, or any other language, use Gemini and the tools Google provides to attend Meetups, listen, understand, participate, and move forward.
Don’t hesitate and don’t feel shy because of language. Technology has given us so many ways to connect with each other-let’s use them and keep moving forward together!
