Hi LGs,

First thing first, I apologize for this very late RECAP of my SPAM FREE MAPS – PUNE, MAHARASHTRA meet-up conducted on August 15th, 2020 as a part of the mission by “India Local Guides”.

Since I had never thought of this exercise so was not aware of the procedure; but the point to point guidance from our senior LGs to name a few like @Shrut19 tai, @Anil6969 ji, @TravellerG sir and a detailed video by @NareshDarji bhai was a great help for me to understand this exercise and contribute by making it spam-free.

My first thought of looking out for public/common visiting and famous places around Pune. I listed out few before finalizing:

  1. Sarasbaug Ganapati Temple
  2. Pune Railway Ticket And Reservation Center
  3. B J Govt Medical College
  4. Pune-Okayama Friendship garden (also known as Pu La Deshapnde Udyan), Sinhgadh road
  5. Vishwakarma Temple
  6. Deccan Honda Showroom, Pune-Satara Road

I was looking out for irrelevant photos/videos of the selected places which I could place into a report for the spam available on the Google Maps.

For example; I found many people wrongly conceptualized Google Maps to Google Photos and posting their selfies, family photos and or videos, photos of the wrong place. Even I found college function videos, advertisements, placed in it.

There were many spam photos and videos, but I choose a few to report in an allocated hour. As I was finishing up, I had decided that now on; I will make a habit of cleaning the Google Maps in my spare time as far as possible and make it organized and spam-free. I started realizing the importance of this mission by our India Local Guide. Also, I will look out for irrelevant or misinformed reviews and profiles as well who is misusing Google Maps for their personal use.

I have seen many people nowadays rely on the information from Google Maps in current scenario and being a local guide it’s my moral responsibility to keep it spam-free so the visitors will get the correct information.

एक स्तुत्य उपक्रम पार पडल्याबद्द्दल हार्दिक अभिनंदन :bouquet:
पुण्यातील निवडक आणि महत्वाच्या स्थळांना स्पॅम-फ्री करण्याची कल्पना फार आवडली आणि हे महत्वाचे देखील होते.
हे महत्व ओळखून तू असंबद्ध फोटो आणि विडिओ काढून टाकलेस आणि एका प्रकारे ही स्थळे चकाचक केलीस.

हा एक नित्यनियमचा उपक्रम करणार आहे. जेव्हा वेळ मोकळा असेल तेंव्हा जरूर करणार .

आता ह्यात अनावश्यक आढावा; प्रोफाइल पण जोडून त्यांची पण विश्लेषण करून नको असलेले काढून टाकायचा विचार आहे.
