Hello all,
After few days of holding the meetup, now I have enough time to write a recap… and still, it is not too late I should say thanks to dear @MortenSI because his kind notes were really inspiring for writing the recap of this meetup.
In the past Friday, we had another Persian online meetup and we discussed about the map and unknown tourism potentials.
We started the meetup at 5 PM on local time and near 10 of Iranian friends joined. Many topics discussed but I’ll mention some of the most important ones in this recap.
Although we planned to hold this meetup in Persian, we had also some Indian friends during the meetup and this was an opportunity to know them more and also to find the ways that they mostly know Iran for. It was really nice
The main goal of the meetup was to find some unknown tourism destinations and during the meetup, some amazing tourism locations introduced by friends.
Let’s start with “Ghasr Bahram Caravansarai” which is a historic resort in the desert.
In general, the Caravanserai is an old place that its historical place which used as a road rest stop.
Today the Ghasr Bahram Caravanserai is using for tour groups such as astronomical groups that went to the desert but it still needs attention to be introduced as a tourism destination itself.

Another location we discussed was Amirabad Palace which is a really amazing historical house but needs more attention to be safe and attracts tourists.

One another place is the Tal Shaytan which is a famous destination for local tour groups but not for most of the people. It has a new look these days because of the rains and there is a seasonal lake around it which creates a really great look for tourists.

One another destination is “Ozbaki Archeological Site” which also known as Nazarabad Archeological Site. This is a valuable archeological site which is really unknown for the people and needs really more attention to be introduced. I planned to do this myself by the abilities of the Local Guides program after the pandemic.

One important thing that we chatted about was that although many unknown tourism places need good facilities to be accessible enough, such as good roads and landline number and even an especial website but as Google Local Guides, even in current conditions we can do our share to introduce these destinations by our visits and then by our photos and reviews and even a good post on Connect.
Beside this, some mapping tips also discussed during the meetup. Cleaning the markets from spam names and fake points was a good topic that we explained our ideas about it. Markets are some difficult places because there are many businesses inside and many of them want to be visible by keywords and general phrases!
Discussing about the GNSS was also another part of the meetup and @saeedheidari informed us in the most technical way in this case.
This meetup lasted more than what we expected because it was a professional discussion and we had lots of things to say and still many discussions remained for our future meetups
Thanks to all of our friends who attended this meetup. Sorry because I don’t know the username of all friends
