Recap | Turkey's 2nd Virtual Meetup for Supporting Small Businesses

We all know that small businesses need more support to make a difference, mainly due to the Coronavirus:microbe: outbreak all around the world :earth_americas: .Therefore, I decided to organize a virtual meetup dedicated to supporting small businesses in Turkey :turkey: as soon as reading @KatieMcBroom 'spost about small businesses.

Local Guides from Turkey were invited to talk about their stories about the favorite small businesses on Google Maps. The meetup was open to everybody, but the meetup language was in Turkish. Fourteen active local guides from different provinces of Turkey attended the meetup via Google Meet on April 18, 2020.

We talked about the ways a small business can do differentiate itself in the days of the pandemic. We also had a surprise guest speaker who is a local guide and a small business owner at the same time. As a life coach and a personal trainer :weight_lifting_man::male_sign: , Atakan told us about how to stay motivated at the corona days at home, and the ways he’s using Google Maps to differentiate his business.

It was great to see that the local guides Turkey community is so active, and everybody is hoping to see each other face to face after the pandemic days :slightly_smiling_face:

It was again a great experience especially during these days that we can not socialize outside. It makes me feel good to see and talk with these people who are hopeful about our new lives and new business styles. Thank you Mr. Parmaksız, as you say I am awaiting the time when we discover new places all together.

Hi @Nyainurjanah , Thanks for your kind words. As you said, small businesses in Turkey having bad times due to the pandemic. Most of them closed their stores due to government bans, and especially consumers tend to cook their meals on their houses, therefore, most of the restaurants and coffee houses in Istanbul have already been closed :disappointed:
