Good evening! to all Google & Connect Moderators and all my fellow local guides around the world, today i’m going to share the Recap post of our third Photo Walk meet up (15th September 2019) of Uttarakhand Local Guides at Devbhoomi**(Land of Gods)** Rishikesh, Uttarakhand which is located in northern India; 4 local guides(including me) from different locations of Uttarakhand attend the meet up i.e Haridwar, Rudrapur, Dehradun and share really creative photographs of Parmarth Niketan Ashram.
So before sharing the highlights of our meet up I want to share some important facts about Parmarth Niketan Ashram, So let’s start.
Some Important Facts about Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh:
- Parmarth Niketan Ashram is located near Ram Jhula, Rishikesh and situated at a distance of around 700 m from Ram Jhula (suspension bridge).
- It was created by Pujya Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj in 1942.
- It’s the largest ashram in Rishikesh with 1000 rooms which are equipped with all kind of facilities.
- Parmarth Niketan is the home of Lord Shiva Statue on the bank of Ganges.
- The ashram is open to all visitors with no discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, religion, caste.
We started our photo walk around 3 PM, the weather was sunny but we cover Parmarth Niketan Ashram by our beautiful photographs, at the main entrance of ashram 1****4 feet Lord Shiva Statue situated inside the river Ganges which i have shared in the front image of the post, there are many idols of Gods and Goddess present near the bank of Ganges, all the idols looks soo magnificent and our local guides gives us really great shots, thanks to all of you.
In the above pictures you can see the construction of ashram which looks really fabulous, devotees from different locations of the world came here everyday to take the bath in divine Ganges, yoga devotees from different countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Spain etc came here to practise Yoga, meditation classes, lecture programs on Spirtuality, Ayurvedic treatment and training.
As Rishikesh is famous for Yoga also known as Yoga Capital of the world, so we perform various yoga asanas (postures) with fellow local guides. So ashram is lush green and so clean and tidy. It’s totally accesssible by road and wheel chair parking facility also available in the ashram. The ashram is eqipped with all amenities sucha as toilets, bathrooms, drinking water facility and even you can book a room also if you want to stay some more days in Rishikesh.
During meet up we also communicate with our senior Local Guides from different states such as @TravellerG from Tamil Nadu, @AmbrishVarshney from Delhi, @Shrut19 from Mumbai (Maharashtra), @SalmaanN from Bangalore (Karnataka), everyone feel motivated to talk with senior LGs and they really like the vibes of Rishikesh.
