This was another accessibility walk of my series which I do monthly. Myself and @ThanulakshanS reached the place on time and while we were about to take a U-turn, I saw @NipunT on the road with his bike, then after a little while, @Kumaran_thanga joined us.
We four started walking from Pizza Hut, Nugegoda and started capturing accessibility related photos to map. Nipun’s mobile was under repair and he was using his digital camera to capture and upload photos. Kumaran had his GoPro7 and was making some magical videos with that too.
We identified places with wheelchair access and uploaded them to google map too. Some of the business owners questioned us why we are doing this and when we explained this, they said they were not aware of this before and appreciated us. Likewise, we had to explain the same to some business owners on the importance of accessibility and google maps.
After our meetup we went to Pizza Hut and had a delicious pizza, Kumaran made a video of my hunger without telling me even, and I liked that video of mine.
Thanks for the recap @IlankovanT . It is amazing that so many people are focused on enabling access for people with disabilities. Keep doing this and make the world a better place to live.
I really enjoyed your recap! And it’s great that you’re turning this into a monthly meet-up event.
Your photos are awesome, full of positive energy and hope for a more accessible world. After all, it seems that you’ve found quite a few places with wheelchair accessibility ramps!
Did the business owners you talked with seem interested in improving the accessibility of their shops/ buildings?
I love to read your recap, and really enjoyed it. Specially your candid video of eating pizza, because you were busy with eating, using Google maps, and taking pictures at the same time
Nandri for sharing another great recap for a noble cause.
