Yesterday, we had an amazing meet-up(https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/Sharing-virtual-LGs-books/m-p/2431878/highlight/false#M821875) with our fellow Local Guides. So here is a short recap of it. We discussed and shared insights from our life so much that it’s difficult to describe all of that in a post, in-fact closing the call at scheduled 1:00 am became difficult. Definitely, we’ll be having similar meet-ups in future as well. Stay tuned!

We started with a detailed introduction of ourselves-
- who we are and where we are from
- what we do as a profession
- our hobbies/likes/dislikes
- how we became a local guide
- some tips on how to be a better LG
- what genre of books we love.
And of-course we shared about some books we love and what the books are about, and I was amazed, we all had so much to share and learn from each other. Our feelings for books, the euphoria of smelling books, our preferences of soft-copy(adobe pdf, kindle .mobi) or old-but-gold hard copies.
Saqi:
His enthusiasm for the meetup was [ama…zing], the way he described his love for reading can’t be described in words.
He shared with us the motivation he got from some YouTube videos of ( Qasim Ali Shah & Javed Chaudry) which get-started him with the beautiful habit of reading. Thanks, Saqi for making the session interesting and joining us.

(self-help book to change our habits for good as we are people shaped by our habits)
Nita:
Very well planned lady and on-time person. Could see the interest she showed to join us all. She is an amazing freelance editor and has travelled all around the country and the world. She has a mini-home-library too. Her photos shared on maps for her last Egypt trip are superb. We shared the common interest of Museums.
And the fact that she took 400+ photos of a museum whole day in Egypt but couldn’t post more than 20 in Gmaps was funny and disheartening at the same time.

(not a book but a manuscript, makes you think our of box for how you perceive day-to-day things)

Palash shared the fact that it takes him months to finish off a book being lost in thoughts after reading every single line. Happens! and should happen!

( which talks about different perspectives of seeing money )
