Everything is different when you’re a child: the trees are higher, the colours are brighter, and every new day is more interesting. Even more importantly, some things happen that stay in our memory for a long time — in fact, sometimes they end up being with us forever.
Yes the same thing happened with me. My granny (she is 95 years of age as of now) was working as assistant in a small scale industry in Saputara, where her duty was to look after making of local food items, sell to the local tourist. The items she used to make was Bamboo Pickles, Nachni Papads, Singpuri, other varieties of pickles and many other items. Saputara being a hill station (1000 meters above sea level) and a tribal area. I used to visit during my may month vacation and because of my maximum visits I would like to share my memories with you in terms of the beautiful places by way of Virtual tour.
Saputara Lake
The lake is scenic and beautiful. The periphery of the lake is being developed as the lake front. The lake is surrounded by greenery, gardens, hotels/resorts and other recreational activities such as boating etc. For children there are few fun activities such as RC car/bikes, horse rides, etc.
You can choose to visit Saputara museum which exhibits the lifestyle, culture and history of people of Dang, majority of which are Adivasis.
Saputara Museum
A small museum that has collections of tribal artifacts of the Dang area. It also gives information on topography and anthropology of the Dangs. The displays include stuffed birds, tribal ornaments, jewelry and musical instruments. Charges are Student ₹1, Adults ₹Rs 2, Foreigner ₹Rs 50
Visitors can learn more about stone funerary columns, grass ornaments, stuffed birds, woodcarving, clay ritual objects, body tattoos, masks used in dance-dramas and musical instruments at the museum.
Sunset
As the name suggests, it is point to witness the beautiful moment of sun setting down. The shades of different colours appearing on the sky is mesmerizing. Also the aerial view of lake and the town visible from this point is awesome. There are two ways to reach the sunset point, one is through rope way (which starts from Table point) and other one is by climbing up on the hill. It is almost close to 1 km strenuous climb, the vehicles are not allowed except for the bikes which are provided by the locals on chargeable basis (they charge Rs 100 one way). There is no entry charge if one decides to climb up while travel through rope way is chargeable.
- Paragliding: From paragliding to parasailing, zip-lining, water rolling, high roping and artificial wall climbing, there is a whole lot of fun and adventure.
- 2 Rope way. This cable way is suspended above the lake which connects Vaity Hotel to Sunset Point situated across the valley. Jeeps takes tourists to the boarding point located 2 km from main roundabout only between 5:30-6:00 PM.

Honey Bees Center, Saputara Overview
The Honey Bee Center provides tourists with insights into the different stages of rearing honey bees, right up to the point where honey is finally collected. Visitors can also purchase fresh honey from here, and at the same time, learn to respect the natural environment of this species.
Step Garden, Saputara Overview
A uniquely developed garden built entirely on steps, the Step Garden on the Table Land Road is home to a variety of flowerpots, plants and exquisite wooden work. Forest huts have also been placed in the centre of this garden for tourists, in addition to a play area for kids.
The Saputara Rose Garden is home to several species of roses that are planted here, which attract nature lovers from far and near. Located quite close to the Lake Garden and Step Garden, the garden is best visited during spring when the flowers here are in full bloom.
Waghai Botanical
Garden is a man-made garden and biodiversity conservation center, which covers an area of 24 hectares.
The highlight of this garden is an extensive bamboo plantation that consists of many rare varieties, such as Chinese Bamboo, Beer Bottle Bamboo and Golden Bamboo. Different types of cactus and other succulent plants can also be spotted in this botanical garden. In order to educate people about these plants and trees, informative boards are present all over the garden. Besides, several nature education trails are organised from this botanical garden to the Vansda National Park and vice versa.
