Dear Local Guide friends,
I feel very, very happy in presenting the recap of my very relaxing virtual meet-up RELIEVE THE LOCKDOWN. This meet-up was very successful and amazingly wonderful more than expected.
Myself the host alongwith @Jose_G_Benjamin as co-host started the session on time, with a short video of mine regarding Typewriter Art.
@deepakjhic who helped us in getting the link for the meet-up was with us half an hour before the meet-up, assisted technically throughout the meet-up till the end. He also helped in recording meetup. @FalguniP gracefully took the introduction of the attendees before this the main session started. This three men army supported me and made me to conduct the meet-up more confidently and comfortably.
The above are the collage pictures of the awesome attendees.
Around 50 local guides from around the globe attended the meetup.
We started the session by briefing why we look for the shops after we visited places of tourist attractions. I showed the soveiners which I have purchased during such visits and how we carry our memories and culture of those places. Now due to this pandemic the street vendors and small businesses around the tourist places have been closed. I placed a request to my fellow Local Guides to find out a way that we can help those small business and street vendors. They have become jobless and doesn’t have income. This was really a spark for our Local Guides.
The above is the picture of few articles which I bought during my travels.
I explained what they should do when they visit my place Chennai, India by sharing a List of Art and Craft shops in Chennai, created by me in Google maps for this purpose. I gave a brief description about each place, which attracted the rapt attention of the audience.

The next season which is an activity session, where everyone were really excited and looking forward for learning the craft work. As requested they were ready with their paper, scissors and glue required for the craft. Their response was adorable and I was very glad to teach them the craft. Such a wonderful audiance. This meet-up went in a very jovial way and our LGs enjoyed their best.
The above are the pictures of craft materials of few of our cheerful audience.
I am really amazed by the way the audience learnt the craftwork. They all learnt with great zeal and enthusiasm. In one go they have made a wand with the community star. I appreciate the interest and intelligence of the LGs.
The above is the collage of attendees holding the community stars they made.
Last but not the least the above is the peacock with Community starts in feathers which was already made by me and explained to the LG’s how to make it,
