Hello, Local Guides,
I want to wish Ramdhan Mubarak again to the whole Local Guides family.
So a couple of days ago I submitted a Meet-up for a noble cause. It was to cook food distribution at Iftar time to Needy people who aren’t able to buy food in such a worst condition of the economical crisis of the country. We are doing it daily, but on the 4th of April, we invited more local guides to join the campaign.
Unfortunately, and as expected no one joined us except us, the hosts (KashifMisidia) and @DrFoodieOfficial (Rizwan Shah) who never disappoint me in any campaign or call for Local Guides initiatives
As is our daily routine, we ordered food earlier in the morning. Rizwan Shah is responsible for that volunteer work daily and I arrange fruits and drinks. We reached the spot of the daily food distribution point at 6:00 pm.
Still, we had 45 minutes to set all the things because we usually break the fast around 06:45 pm with the prayer call (Azan) from the nearest (Masjid) Mosque.
The menu for distribution for today was Potato Samosa, Baisan Pakora, 3 types of fruits, Jalaibi, Chilled Rooh Afza Sharbat, and in the main course, we had Chicken Biryani.
By that time food was coming as we ordered it from different places, like Samosa and fried items from the United King, which is a famous bakery in Karachi, and Biryani from Memon Kitchen Hussainabad.
The major work for us was to prepare big plates (Thaal) with equal food on every plate which is of course a time taking thing for us. But as is our daily routine, many other guys always come to help us from nearby areas. Of Course, they also do it Voluntarily.
The food was almost 100 people and we made plates instantly, till we had only 5 minutes left for the Azan e Maghrib.
By the grace of God, everything went smoothly, and we Local Guides from Karachi were not only able to distribute food there, but these more than 100 people ate their dinner till they became full.
Although the distribution we did is not related to Local Guides initiatives, we can say that these kinds of initiatives can bring people together, we can understand the importance of teamwork, and most importantly, we can get inner spiritual satisfaction by helping others with our tiny efforts as we did.
Because as ordinary citizens we cannot do anything to improve our economy and get rid of the economical crisis of the country, but if we have enough food in our homes and our families, with our extra savings, we can help people who are suffering from financial crises.
After meet-up a new friend introduced himself as a Local Guide @Samran_Khan , and we instantly introduce himself to Local Guides Connect and let him started his contributions to Local Guides Connect as well.
You can watch some moments of the distribution of food in this Google Photo album and the following video by Rizwan Shah
