Recap - Punjab Pakistan State Challenge

I hope that you are safe and excited about the Connect birthday celebrations.

After a long pause (my apologies), I am back with a Re-cap of an exciting #WorldChallenge #StateChallenge virtual meetup. This time we featured Punjab, Pakistan, as the state challenge. #WorldChallenge #Statechallenge series was started more than one year ago and it’s a successful series in which hundreds of Local Guides participated till now.

A few days back, @KashifMisidia bhai invited me to co-host this meetup where I had the opportunity to virtually join @Denise_Barlock and @jayasimha78 for the #StateChallenge competition.

We had amazing set of informative questions on Punjab Pakistan and I was surprised to see the enthusiasm of our amazing participants. Kashifmisidia, set up a great study post for this challenge, that we used as a reference (My over-confidence was an overkill, but more to that later )

So on 10th July almost midnight in Malaysia, I joined the Google meet link and tried to quickly brush up my skills for three reasons:

1. It was my first state challenge, so I was new to the format
2. I am from Punjab, Pakistan, so I had this moral and ethical responsibility to secure the top slot (which I could not )
3. I had to walk the participants through the questions, being the co-host

I was glad to see and hear that all participants were so excited and they all were trying to guess the right answer with their incredible skills.

There were a total of 30 Questions with 4 options with different points value (100 to 500 points) and categories. The points were laid out and the participants had 15 seconds to choose the best fit. I was surprised how well prepared the participants were and how quickly they stacked up the points (where I ended up chasing right till the end).

For those of you who never participated in #StateChallenge, let me tell you that it is amazing. Not only you will learn new facts about various parts of the world, but you will get a chance to meet some of the most amazing people during these virtual meetups.

We had an incredible time and almost all of us kept chasing Mr. Robinhood (yep, that’s our @AnshukMitra ) .

The quiz was so tough, but the interesting thing that Local Guides were incredibly guessing correct answers, and finally Robinhood (AnshukMitra) & @Muhammad_Irfan won the competition because there was a tie between both of them after the final question, so anyone can imagine how crucial moments there were.

For me, it was not just a Meet-up, but it was like a learning session, and like recalling my school days when I learn about the amazing history of the whole region of Punjab. I hope in future I will attend more meet-ups of #Statechallenge to get more knowledge of different parts of the world.

This must have been a stellar quiz meetup for the topic state was very interesting.

Most places in Punjab Pakistan are connected in one way or the other to the places I have traveled to in India during the past 2 years.

So this was close to my heart.

I was eagerly waiting for Punjab state challenge but unfortunately due to my duty I couldn’t join my fellow local guides. But I can clearly see how much everyone enjoyed the meetup.
