My trip to Port Harcourt is always a memorable one. The petro-rich city tends to uncover one new gem upon my visits.
Port Harcourt, also known as the Garden City, is the capital of Rivers State in Nigeria.
There’s a special aesthetics that besiege the eyes as you drive into Port Harcourt making the fauna greener and the skies shiny blue, even though it is punctuated by slow moving traffic.
The plan was to actually edit information on the maps but we ended up doing a photo walk too. We toured the State University and Pleasure park.
River State University is located in the heart of the city at Nkpolu. A large expansive compound with buildings, sports complex, mini theatre, conference halls, bus terminal and a good network of road.
Pleasure Park. Driving into Port Harcourt City, we noticed a beautiful flower garden overlooking a fun park. How can we leave without exploring this gem? So, we retuned to the area after our activity at the River State University. To gain entrance into the Port Harcourt Pleasure pack, the gate fee is N500 (adults) and N300 (children).
Facilities at the park include boats, train, zipline, bouncing castle, paintballs, carousel, golf and 3D cinema, A restaurant is located on the right just after the entrance. Local and intercontinental dishes are served accompanied by light music at the background.
Port Harcourt Pleasure Park was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Rivers State.
Check out some photos of the park in the meetup album.
360: Yes, we didn’t forget to take 360 photos too.
It’s exciting to see how the Local Guides in Port Harcourt are helping to improve the maps. I look forward to meeting more PH Local Guides when next in the Garden City!
