The Local Guides with the Ophans and the care-giver at the BLESAM ORPHANAGE home
The Escalation Of Covid-19 has resulted in global lock down, with severe effect on the Masses. The shock is somewhat unusual as it affects significant elements of both food supply and demand. In Port Harcourt, Markets including food markets; big and small are closed down. Such necessary Emergency protocol from the government has further inflicted more pains to the Society. My thought then goes to the Motherless Babies, how will the children cope with no place to buy food and expensive nature of the little that may be sought in the street? What situation will the care-givers face if they were not able to store food before the lockdown.?
Currently in Port Harcourt there is only 1 active case of Covid-19, but the government has taken some stringent measures to curtail the spread by Locking down markets, beer and other alcoholic joints, stopped weddings and burials; though there are still free movements along the road and streets but the Principle of social distancing applies.
The Government does little or practically nothing to assist the Orphanage homes, this situation made i and my friend Pius a local guide here in Port Harcourt to think of how to assist the orphans. So in preparation for the meet up, we arranged for some bags of Rice, Noodles, Tissue papers and Tomatoes paste.
So today 9th April 2020, we decided to visit a few vulnerable ones. We did not invite many local guides because this Pandemic does not call for crowd so we picked Few nearby Local guides, only Four of Us.

Blesam Orphanage home was the first to be visited. It was a surprised visit as we could not get their phone number before going. We gave them 50kg bag of Rice grain, A cartoon of indomie Instant Noodle, full pack of Tissue paper and a carton of Sealed Tomatoes. They were so happy and overjoyed. The home was not already listed on the Map, so we created it pending approval.

We proceeded to Rhema Orphanage home, despite the Heavy rain we were able to locate them and offer them the same measure as the first home. They felt blessed by God and sang for us and even offered to pray for us.

We shall still visit more homes before the pandemic ends.
Special thanks to Mr Pius and @Chukwumela for your Generous contribution to the success of the Movement.
So I have questions for you guys, do you have orphanage homes in your country, how are they cared for especially during this period of pandemic? @KarenVChin @JanVanHaver .
