[Recap] : Ornaments of Accessibility - 2019

I am very glad that my “Ornaments of Accessibility-2019” meet ups has been completed successfully in Cumilla, Chandpur, Brahman Baria, Narsingdi & Dhaka. I would like to thanks all participants and host of Ornaments of Accessibility in various cities. Especially thanks to @ShafiulB @Mohammadalauddin @ShahMdSultan @OmarBD for their unconditional love to these meet ups. Demanding wheelchair access for persons with physical disabilities, we formed a human chain at in front of National Press Club, Dhaka.

Actually a lot of places we have visited to check the status of wheelchair accessibility but we have found 99.5% places are not accessible. A simple change or modification can be changed that status and can be reduced in 40% , that’s why we have initiated this meet up and requested to add and repair the current situation of the places.

This is a fantastic recap and an even more fantastic meet-up, @Kamalhasnainee !

I’m not even surprised that it met with such huge success.

Did you manage to have a discussion with the owners of the places or the responsible authorities about adding accessibility features to the buildings and public facilities?

And wow, you’ve listed a really big number of visited places! Hope you also had time and chance to add your valuable reviews and photos to Google Maps.

Wow, I am glad that you like it @DeniGu .

Yes, we have managed to have a discussion with owners and the responsible authorities about adding accessibility.

I met few owners and with authority persons also who were very kind and positive minded about accessibility.

The Owner of Bhagavati Pera Bhandar, Cumilla said to me, We have the plan to add wheelchair accessibility. Overall, It’s a great experience about people survey from where I have gathered a good knowledge about general people.

I have made a Google My Maps list with all visited places.

Thanks

I am really glad that you like Google My Maps @DeniGu

There is another one thing what will be changed time to time, when a place from this list modified as accessible then it will also be changed to green color with wheelchair icon as accessible to public and this list will be updated day by day. I will try to contact them again to modify their status to accessible by sharing this Google My Maps list. Then I hope it will be easy for us to help the disable community.

Thanks
