Organized by Local Guide @Shree.ish | Held on 22nd June 2025 at Ramkund, Nashik

:round_pushpin: Nashik, Maharashtra

In a vibrant gathering that brought together the spiritual and cultural soul of Maharashtra, the “Nashik Cultural Meetup” was held on June 22, 2024, at the historic Ramkund Ghats. This hybrid event — combining on-ground participation and virtual engagement via Google Meet — was proudly organized by Local Guide @Shree.ish.

:bullseye: A Cultural Confluence: Purpose of the Meetup

The aim of the meetup was to:

  • Celebrate Nashik’s cultural and spiritual richness
  • Encourage responsible cultural tourism via the Google Local Guides platform
  • Create awareness through documentation, storytelling, and photography
  • Spark conversations between heritage, faith, and modern community voices

:glowing_star: Highlights of the Meetup

:diya_lamp: Godavari Aarti Experience

As the sun dipped behind the ghats, attendees participated in the mesmerizing Godavari Aarti, with floating diyas lighting up the sacred river — a moment of serenity and devotion.

:hindu_temple: Cultural Heritage Walk

We explored significant temples and structures including:

  • Naroshankar Temple
  • Kalaram Mandir
  • Holkar-era bridges

Each stop offered spiritual insights and stories of Nashik’s architectural legacy.

:performing_arts: Traditional Performances

Local folk artists infused the meetup with energy through live Dhol-Tasha, Lezim, and traditional Maharashtrian dance forms — celebrating unity in rhythm.

:camera_with_flash: Photography & Storytelling Session

Local Guides shared unique angles, personal stories, and ways to document and preserve culture digitally for the world to discover.

:globe_with_meridians: Hybrid Participation

Local Guides joined both in-person and virtually from across Maharashtra — making this a truly inclusive cultural exchange.

:thread: Tradition Meets Aesthetics: Cultural Decor

The ghats were beautifully transformed with:

  • Colorful rangolis, floral decor, and floating diyas
  • Traditional torans and string lights
  • Participants wearing ethnic attire, immersing themselves in the theme

:speech_balloon: Community Reflections

“This meetup reminded us that Nashik isn’t just an industrial town — it’s a cultural soul with stories to tell.”
@Shree.ish, Organizer

He shared his vision of putting Nashik on the global cultural map — not just as the Wine Capital of India, but as a living symbol of spirituality, art, and heritage.
