Hello everyone,
Am happy to announce that the Nairobi food crawl went on as planned. It started with a chilly morning but that did not stop us as we were determined to make it happen against all odds.
We first started with grabbing some hot brewed caramel tea at chicken Inn to help stimulate and bring the warmth. I know some are wondering tea at chicken Inn?? Haha yes they prepare it very well and is always on their menu. They especially brew caramel tea which is way too amazing and serve it hot.
We then moved to our second spot Black forest house which we found that they are more of a cake school and cake delivery center than a restaurant. We however inquired about their cakes and passion cake is the one I found more fascinating because I have not had an encounter with it. Of course they prepare other varieties of cake as well and they do an awesome job at it.
Our third food stop was meant to be Rafikiz bar and restaurant but due to time restriction of opening hours they were still closed. So we opted to find a different location to sample out the next dishes. We went to a nearer restaurant called the hot spot. It specializes with African cuisine, Indian cuisine and Continental cuisine. They are situated in a serene environment just next to Wilson airport. Their restaurant offers a very calm environment for good conversations. They have top notch services with a human touch. Thinking of their food makes me hungry and wanting each time because they really have done amazing work on creating the best recipes to follow.
This spot concluded our food crawl because there were heavy rains and we could not sample out other restaurant dishes. The meet-up was amazing and am grateful to @smaloba for showing up to the meet-up and making it a fun and memorable event. Hoping to prepare more of this events and have you as one of the attendant again.
Also, thanks to Local Guides Connect for giving us a chance and platform to connect with people we did not know before and through that making good friends in the process.
