Wow, A huge achievement I accomplished by overcoming my fear to HOST the Meet-up. It always questions me what are the traits required to be a host? A good speaker, being fluent in English, confidence and connections with the local guides!!
Does it really matter? NOO, all local guides are so friendly and understanding they won’t ever judge you if your English is bad, or if you have stage fear. JUST BE YOURSELF and that’s enough.
Well, after being a host to my Meet-up: “Weekly Grooming Session - 13” on 11th July at 5:30pm IST under the #TeamIndia initiative, We accomplished the entire 12 sessions. Yes, 12 a whole dozen of sessions to groom the LGs to get friendly with the Connect, Google Maps and in general knwoledge.
This session was ALL ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY; it was delivered by our senior LG, Our guest speaker @jaisoncbe be who has a great experience in photography. He is an IT professional and a widely acclaimed photographer. He also has the “Street View Trusted Photographer” badge for his 360° photos contribution in Google maps.
The bridge was opened at 5:30pm IST for the local guides to enter the room and introduce themselves, @Anil6969 sir as usual greets and encourages LGs. He also introduced both of us as Host and my co-host @TusharSuradkar respectively. We came to know about the Birthday of our LG Vikram Singh so we sang the birthday song for him and started with the session. Then, we called @TravellerG on the platform to announce about the IVM-04 to be held on 26th July 2020 at 6:30pm IST and share about the concept of the weekly grooming sessions.
By 6:00pm, I started with the Agenda of the session and explained the topics that would be discussed in the session. After that I invited to our guest speaker, Jaison sir to start about “Tips for Mobile photography”.
Every local guide’ has a greater affection of for mobile photography so what new we shared?
Well, the SWOT Analysis
S- Strength
W- Weakness
O- Opportunities
T- Threats
He also shared about the different concepts of mobile photography with examples of photos clicked by him and other LGs, like the Leading lines, Composition, Rule of Thirds, Different angles, Focus and exposure. The main focus here was to make everyone speak and make the session more interactive and not monotonous. So we asked the attendees to tell the points that they feel like adding into the SWOT tables. @Globe_trotter_Ish gave a great answer along with the LGs in the chat section. These points were then discussed in broader spectrum analysis to make everyone understand the concept.
Then we moved on to the next session that was “Know your Camera: Mode Dial” at 6:30 pm. This whole session was dedicated to explain about different modes of a DSLR camera. He explained about the mode dials from Exposure Triangle, the relation between the Aperture - Shutter speed - ISO. Then the mode dials: Manual (M), Program (P), Shutter priority (S), Aperture priority (A). Where Automatic modes were further into: Auto, Guide Action, Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Child, No flash, Sports.
After the session completed, The Bridge was opened for attendees to clear the doubts and questions they had, @doc_dells asked about the difference in AUTO mode and MANUAL mode.
Then the next brief session on “Introduction 360° Camera” was started at 7 pm where the explanation on how the image is formed and the angle between the two lenses and how the stitching of images is down afterwards. There is a link of the album shared in the chat section to make attendees see the awesome small planets captured by Jaison sir and some beautiful clicks. We asked attendees to show their 360° cameras if they had, TG Sir and Devi ma’am presented their cameras.
By 7:10pm, the time had come for the most favorite part of Meet-up - “The Puzzle Game”
We started by congratulating the last week’s winner: @Nomad_vikram . There were 10 words from the session addressed to be guessed by the attendees with a timer of 10 seconds. The joint winners of the puzzle game were @FalguniP and @Aditya_Patil . There was a tie but we would still congratulate both of them for being quick and active.
Lastly, we announced again about the upcoming session of Inspirational Virtual Meet-up 04 with Aslam Mohammed sir hosted by Devi mam and Anil Singh sir. And we closed the session.
