Hey everyone!
Last Sunday, August 25th, was a blast for the Argentina Local Guides Community! We got together to celebrate our five-year anniversary, and we had an amazing time full of fun, laughs, and food, like always.
We kicked things off with lunch at a classic Argentine restaurant called “El Horno del Norte” (meaning: The North’s Oven). The place was buzzing with flavor and tradition, especially of the north of Argentina. Lots of us went for dishes such as “empanada”, “[humita](Humita - Wikipedia and “cazuela”, and they were delicious! We caught up on everything and reminisced since it had been a while since many of us last met up. The conversations were as satisfying as the food, and it was great to reconnect with everyone.
After lunch, we headed over to DODA, a cool café where we met up with some other Local Guides who couldn’t make it to lunch. DODA is not an average café, it’s a paradise for board game lovers with around 1500 games to choose from! We spent the afternoon playing all sorts of games the staff suggested, both collaborative and competitive, and let’s just say, the competition was fierce but fun. It was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon, and we all had a great time.
During the event, @EugeGallardo and @Maximilianozalazar surprised us with some beautiful gifts for each of us. It was such a nice gesture, and it made the day even more special.
We also had a chance to raise a toast and celebrate with those who joined us virtually. It was great to have everyone involved, even if they couldn’t be there in person.
We want to extend a special thanks to @RosyKohli and @KashifMisidia for their kind words and best wishes for our community.
We had also talked about getting some ice-cream afterwards to participate in the latest ice-cream challenge, and though we almost didn’t make it to this last stop because of the cold (it’s winter here), we were very motivated by the challenge and went to a nearby place called “Alchemy”.
The ice cream shop is super quirky, with a theme that looks like a chemistry lab and some really unusual flavors, including salty and alcoholic ones. Some of us were brave enough to try flavors like blue cheese, while others stuck to more familiar and sweet options. Either way, we all had a great time trying out different flavors and taking lots of pictures.
Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with great food, fun games, unique ice cream, and awesome company.
Celebrating these five years reminded us why the Argentine community is so special. It’s all thanks to each member that helped build so many fun memories and participate in the meetups and challenges with so much enthusiasm. We can’t wait for the next meetup, and for more adventures ahead!
