[Recap] Mawna Map Editing Meet-Up

Hi, Local Guides! I hope everyone is doing great! Last month (February 29), I have conducted a Meet-Up called Mawna Map Editing Meet-Up. It was a Map Editing Meet-Up. Today, I’m here to share the Recap post of my last Meet-Up. Let’s start!!!

The Meet-Up location was Mawna (Gazipur district) and it is around 32+ km distance from my current location. I reached the Mawna Bus Stand with my cousin by bus. Then we took an auto-rickshaw to reach Pear Ali University College. My cousin studied at Pear Ali University College.

After a while, I discussed with some students of this institute about Google Maps, how to use it and it’s benefits, how to contribute to Google Maps and many more! Also, I requested them to join the Local Guides program and one student instantly joined this program and made me confident!

After that, I captured a selfie with them. Also, I have taken some pictures of this institute and upload them to Google Maps. During this time, I have edited some required places in this area.

After around 02 hours later, I again came back to the Mawna Bus Stand and started the theme of the Meet-Up. During this time I have performed the following activities:

• Edit some places (hour, contact number, etc)
• Find the duplicate place
• Check the facts
• Upload photos
• Add missing places and many more!

During lunch hour, I have taken lunch with my cousin at Bormi Misty Ghar and Hotel. After taking a break, again we have performed some activities for Google Maps in this area and returned to my current location by bus.

Thanks to Mizanur Rahman (my cousin) for helping me. Also, thanks to some students at Pear Ali University College for listening about the Google Maps and Local Guides program.
