Welcome to Team USA’s State challenge meetup recap!
The inaugural State challenge trivia quiz meetup was held on June 20th. It will be repeated weekly going forward. Our first meetup was focused on the state of MAINE.
Everyone got into the swing things after a few questions. There was much laughter as all of us at one time or another made mistakes either asking the questions or providing answers.
@JordanSB received the highest points and was crowned King of MAINE for the week!!! The 2nd @JaneBurunina and 3rd @Velvel place winners were appointed to the court of MAINE.
Other AMAZING participants were @Durojaiyeolaunde1 and @KashifMisidia !!! Everyone did a great job of answering and learning about the state of MAINE!
The format of the State weekly meetup was a trivia quiz based on the information in the articles submitted during the past week about the state of MAINE
A study guide was provided the day before the trivia quiz meetup
The quiz questions were categorized and given point values
All questions were both spoken and typed in the chat
The answers by the attendees were provided in the chat window
The first three correct answers received points based on the gameboard below
After the first question, the first person with the correct answer picked the next question by category and point value

It was really an awesome and full of fun time for me. I was trying to apply for this meet-up from last 3 days, but maybe there was a glitch on my side that I couldn’t do that. But in last minutes I got the way to attend this meet (thanks to you )
So for the next time I will come with full preparation, and I hope I will be in top three because this time I was just guessing the answer, if you remember one of my guess was Mountain Dew
But really it was an amazing Quiz, now I understand and love it.

All of the questions are pulled from any articles submitted to the #StateChallenge. If you submit articles, you’ll have some of your information turned into questions on this upcoming week’s quiz.
Hi @Denise_Barlock probably this was the shortest virtual meetup that I’ve been so far hahaha But it was so much fun where we could prepare ourself to learn everything related to the state as the topic for the trivia quiz.
Thanks for organizing this, and thanks to @Kwiksatik as well. You were so funny when you suddenly gave us the answer two times before we answered it. We could regard that as a hint, couldn’t we?

@Velvel Yes… it is our goal to try to keep these meetups to 30 minutes. Hahahahaha. Since we are doing these every week and we don’t want attending to take so much of everyone’s time. I’m SO GLAD you enjoyed it! Do some research this week and contribute a Montana post!
@KashifMisidia it was so much fun to have you there! I love how you participated with humor when you did not know an answer. It brought a huge smile to my face. That good attitude brought extra sunshine to the Meetup. I hope to see you for another meetup very soon!
@Velvel thank you for your patience while I worked out the kinks in our system. We have it down to a successful habit now! It was wonderful to have you with us. I am glad we were able to keep to our goal of a shorter meetup - with all the time zones, a short and fun meeting should be easier to attend than a lengthy one. I hope you come to another meetup soon! It was fun to have you!
The recap is fantastic, @Denise_Barlock ! I was surprised to learn that Stephen King lives in Maine and that Maine has 145 active beer breweries. Wasn’t aware of these interesting facts. I can’t wait to see what you and @Kwiksatik have in stored next for the community.
