This is our first virtual meetup held with the #TeamItaly, in replacement of the meetup which was planned for the same day today.
I arranged the connection to be outside in my garden since the weather is so beautiful, sunny and warm today. The topic of the meetup was just see (virtually) each other and chat a bit, actually the intention was to have a drink together and some of them shown up with their own drinks (I had a Spritz).
The conversation started with @RiccyB and @manulele81 the first to arrive, more or less how we are living this special and difficult period and the differences in our regions. Then we had the only not Italian guest of the meetup Niv from Tel Aviv and we started to introduce each other.
We had some fun conversation, talked about the Buccellato, a typical sweet bread from Lucca which Emanuele attempted to make at home and he was showing us in the session. Talked about the Local Guides family and Connect mainly to introduce Niv since he is new to Connect and just discovered about it due to the invitation to Connect Live 2020.
Emanuele did us a virtual tour of his shop to show us that the complete shopping center in Norcia was empty and he was alone.
Ermes and Antonella shown us their cat and the originally Venetian receipt of the Spritz they were having … basically just wine and water, the origin, as Ermes stated ?.
We also attempted to make the common group selfie which cannot miss … however there was too much sun and the laptop monitor is too dark.
It was fun and so nice to see each other hopefully we can join real meetups soon. We last the session for a bit more than an hour when we started to greet each other to go having lunch more or less, Emanuele just got a customer in his shop, and some of us attended also the next virtual meetup organized by @AlexandreCampbell … so we needed to eat at least, what Flavio stated while closing the session ?.
Thank you very much everyone and to the next meetup!
Thank you so much for arranging this virtual meetup.
It was so good to see you and all other friends. You were right, such occasions are so helpful for all of us on this bad period . Hope we may have a real meetup very soon. Grazie mille
ah now I know your Connect name . Thank you for joining and very nice meeting you, I hope you didn’t get too much bored with all those Italians .
@uavalentine please meet Niv, today we met him in our virtual meetup and he is from Tel Aviv but he doesn’t know anybody, so we told him we have a very nice friend who can introduce some Local Guides from Israel .
Thank you very much @Giuseppe75 , yes I told you that this helps a lot, at least we cannot meet anybody but we can definitely have fun anyway … in the meantime we can join a real meetup again .
@AntonellaGr thank you very much for being there as well, yes next time please not the origin Spritz … vino annacquato . Speriamo di vederci a Norcia!
It has been great to meet you @Niv1234 , welcome onboard.
I take the whole responsibility for the use of the original recipe of Spritz, @LuigiZ , due to the fact that actually we are not going out for shopping every day, so I had no Aperol at home.
Thank you @LuigiZ for the organization of this virtual meet up! It was my second meet up at all really funny also the speaking of Italian and English in order to speak also with the fellow LG from Israel @Niv1234 !
Congratulations to you and all the participants for the great initiative! It is very nice seeing how strong is the bond between fellow Local Guides like you! I promise I’ll try to be with you next time
For anyone interested in hosting a virtual meet-up, I suggest to follow the useful suggestions shared with us here: How to organize a successful meet-up.
Thank you very much @myparmaksiz for your comment, I feel honored to be inspiration for you. Yes virtual meetup is a good choice in this difficult time, at least you can keep “contact” with the other Local Guides … and why not also a bit of fun .
