[RECAP] LONDON Street View Summit 2019 #GoLondon

We were fortunately invited to the Street View Summit held in the “Magical Land”. Google UK is located between [two stations](http://King’s%20Cross St. Pancras Underground Station Euston Rd, Kings Cross, London N1 9AL イギリス +44 343 222 1234 https://maps.app.goo.gl/f48jtbkCi9qJSS4c6) that became the stage of a familiar magic school:mage:‍ :female_sign: :mage::male_sign: :synagogue: .

Oh! How beautiful! ! I will say as a psychology student. We were ice-breaked in this magical city scene before the summit began. Therefore, it can be said that this summit has already been successful before the beginning.

I would like to briefly explain what you could be interested in.
First of all, I will not talk about NDA, but I want you to imagine that what you can imagine is going to make great progress. The hints will be noticed if you are using some modern image retouching software.
In addition, it was emphasized that the Local Guides program and the Street View Photographer program are independent programs and will not change in the future. In other words, it is ensured that the Local Guides is not profitable. Our strong relationships will not be destroyed.
Google explained the progress. The percentage of Googler resources devoted to each service and the numerical ratio of images requested by Google were reported.
Google has inspired us to end the mapping that humanity has been trying for thousands of years.

The progress of the activities of companies that have already been made public was announced. Infrastructure companies use Street View to manage, monitor, and install cables and water pipes.

The Traffic Accident Investigation Committee has set a numerical goal to eliminate casualties and continues to investigate dangerous intersections using street view user reports. Information is shared by users who give a five-star rating of the risk at that intersection. I was very interested because I was one of the injuries.

Several tourist offices such as Tahiti are active in attracting tourism. The research is progressing to every corner of the island with a strong team unity based on their cultural spirit. In addition to attracting tourists, they also offer street view usage education.

In the event of natural disasters that will frequently occur in the future, the organization will quickly enter the disaster area and quickly take a street view and provide information to those involved in the reconstruction. There was an explanation about the means. You can also compare the video before and after the damage. I was asked, “Why was the support delayed by the Japanese Tsunami in Fukushima?” And replied, “All infrastructure has been destroyed for long period.”

On the business side, Company explained how to get an advertising fee by pasting a store logo or advertisement on the bottom of Street View. In addition, in order to increase the number of views of Street View, a person dressed up as a bowling pin stood on the sidewalk and shot with an interesting performance in which the pin fell down when proceeding. It was proposed as a way to attract people’s interests. Our effort is to work for people to be interested in the image.

Several 360-degree camera manufacturers participated. In addition to Ricoh, Gopro, and Insta360, Teche technology, Chinese venture companies, professional specialist companies, and 3D Teche technology camera companies promoted each. It seems that movie shooting with 11M pixels is possible. In addition, software companies including VR also participated.
The session reported specific utilization. Use the characteristic transportation methods of each country. For example, it was explained that you can take a hand-held shot in the passenger seat of a mini motorcycle or easily shoot with a backpack on the back.

There were frequent breaks and simple meals and sweets like afternoon tea were provided:bagel:. We were able to eat anytime. Breakfast and lunch were delicious London sandwiches. I really like this:sandwich: :yum: !

After all the schedules were completed, we received a rewarding ice cream and a banquet party was held at [“Magic Land”](http://The%20Booking Office St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Euston Rd, Kings Cross, London NW1 2AR イギリス +44 20 7841 3566 https://maps.app.goo.gl/qoJZPVac1qNWytM46) :synagogue: ! It ’s like a different world. I don’t think it’s 2019!!

London found rationality in such a brick building after past catastrophic fires and after suffering damage from the World Wars. Because it doesn’t burn and can be reassembled even if damaged.

In addition, the Googler manager called “Let’s go to Karaoke later  !!” Using Japanese words!! We had a lot of fun at a party excited for two different reasons!!

There were 9 Japanese people this time. They respected us. Thank you  !

Finally, report important things. Many non-profit Local Guides have participated in this business-themed summit this year. In particular, we had many Connect Live participants. Furthermore, the importance of the existence of a Local Guides was explained in all sessions by Google. Please think about what this means. Thank you.

By the way, would you like post a London trip report with an #GoLondon hashtag  ?

Hello @Raphael-Mahumane ,

Thank you! Answer your question. I am a trusted photographer. However, the sudden selection of invitations does not reveal the specific reason for selection. One thing I could guess was that I posted many street views of autumn leaves and cherry blossoms. I don’t know how active I am  .

こんにちは @955HIRO さん、

ストリートビューサミットはローカルガイドに馴染みが少ないかもしれませんが、コネクトライブと内容の密度は同じなんです。

私は招待状をもらったことが幸運だと感じております。ぜひご注目ください!

Thanks for the recap. It seems that there was nothing practically useful and interesting for GSV photographers, that’s a pity.

Hi @YasumiKikuchi ,

Yes it was a truly amazing event with lots of knowledge sharing between GSV and Local Guide people. Not to forget about the Google employees and 3rd party hardware and software partners.

Best moment for me was to able to attend a Karaoke party with people from Japan - you guys for sure knows how to rock this!

Thank you Google for arranging this event - such a nice community to be part of. I feel like I now have friends all over the world :slightly_smiling_face: From French Polynesia to Caribbean Islands and out to Japan.
