It was an amazing meet up which was held at Idemili North Local Government, Ogidi. It was a full packed event and I enjoyed every bit of it. I was given 30 minutes to speak and I spoke on how to become a local guides, the steps, rules, regulations, importance to the community and benefits.
My greatest joy was how people became so interested in becoming a local guides after I told them that I had already done an approved edit on Idemili North Local Government. I also told them how I intend to add more place on the map before leaving the community. Ogigi is a community very close to a commercial city, Onitsha. Most of the participants were coming from Onitsha and hopefully, Onitsha Local Guides may begin very soon. I saw so much passion and energy in a young guy called, Kizito Anyanwu, who is so enthusiastic about the programme and how to add more places in Onitsha. Thanks to Google Street View which is now present in some parts of Anambra State especially at the express roads.
Hopefully, Onitsha Local Guides will kick off. I will ensure every effort is made to begin it. It is a commercial city and by next month, I will be speaking to students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Okofia, Nnewi Campus. I also hope to build Nnewi Local Guides. Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha are the major cities in Anambra State and it will be a great effort to begin it in these cities.
I am super proud to be a local guide and I wont encouraging people to be part of the programme.
