Our Meet-up venue was at Muktijoddha Park, everyone came one by one within the allotted time.

The happiest news is that we’ve got a new local guide in this Meet-up and we’ve all gotten acquainted with him first.

I told a new local guide friend a lot about Local Guides and Connect, then he asked some questions about Google Maps and gave him a definite idea of how to improve the quality of contribution.

We visited the entire fair and saw many women entrepreneurs from different parts of Barishal who are running their business offline and online. We’ve got some women entrepreneurs who have permanent businesses, we’ve advised them to add their own shop on Google Maps and claim Google My Business, it will enrich their business.

Israt Jahan Sima is owner of Indoor Plant Shop. She was a housewife and now she is an Entrepreneur. She had a little love for trees since she was a child. From that love she used to garden on her roof but she could not get trees at different times as she needed. From that time she started this business on her own.

Israt Jahan Sima said to us, tree plantation can be a multi-purpose business in Bangladesh. Since global warming and climate change deeply affects Bangladesh’s climate, only the plantation can play an important role in keeping the environment balanced. Tree plantation is not a business, it benefits nature and humans.

In the pandemic her business has gone through a very tragic situation and has lost a lot. I advised to add her nursery to Google Maps and Google Maps users can easily find her nursery and business will be more prosperous.

When I talked about some of the helpful features on Google Maps, she is happy to say that it will be really helpful for me. Many customers call me from online page and asked me that how they can easily come to my nursery, if I share Google map link with them they can easily come to my nursery and buy the required trees.

Mariam Jahan Mumu is owner of Diva’s Den. She is a student of Psychology department of Barishal University. In addition to her studies, she has become an entrepreneur, providing a variety of unique ornaments to her customers in offline. Take products from her online page and from different places in the Barishal. I have advised her to add shop to Google Maps so that she can get more and more prosperity.

Arpita Das is owner of Kopalkundola. She is an entrepreneur besides studying at Barisal University and he makes various types of hand printed garments and supplies them online in different places in and around Barishal. She came to this hand cottage industry fair as an entrepreneur to increase the publicity of his organization and there is a fairly good response.
