Let’s Explore BSIC Entrepreneur Fair Barishal held on 14 January 2022.
The Covid-19 epidemic threatens the normal livelihood of the people. The world economy is in decline. Many businesses have been shutting down. As a result, the unemployment rate is constantly increasing. In such a situation, the government has taken initiative to implement various programs including financial incentives by training the youth in the socio-economic development of the country. As a result, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSIC) has started work to implement the government’s initiative. As part of this, this is the first large-scale month-long BSIC Entrepreneur Fair organized by Barishal District Administration and BSIC Authority.
Continuing to Support Small Businesses, we went to some Local Guides at the fair.

Hygiene control at the entrance of the fair includes distribution of free Mask, use of hand sanitizer which helps in compliance with hygiene and ensures Covid-19 safety. The highlight of the fair is the free Entry for visitors of all classes and professions. The entrepreneur fair premises of Barishal BSIC Industrial City are becoming popular among the visitors of different ages including children and teenagers. After many days of fair in Barishal city, many people are coming to visit the fair with their tender children in the open air. The fair has many interesting entertainment facilities for children.
As soon as we entered the fair, we approached some of local entrepreneurs and encouraged them, if they had a permanent sales center, to add them to Google Maps and to clime Google My Business. Entrepreneurs have come up with various exceptional products including handicrafts, cottage industries, weaving, jute bags, garments, pickles, outdoor food.
The organizing committee of the fair and the demand of the entrepreneurs participating in the fair are getting responses for organizing the fair in such a beautiful and pleasant environment in an initiative to boost the economy. The fair started with a glittering ceremony with small and medium entrepreneurs and traders of Barishal district and the division. Entrepreneur fair has already responded in the city. The fair grounds were crowded with thousands of visitors every day.

Visitors and buyers from different places are rushing to buy various handicrafts and products made by the entrepreneurs at low prices, especially as the office court is closed on Friday and Saturday. There are about 78 shops of different types and participation of entrepreneurs in the fair.

A special attraction of the fair is the provision of various rides including jumping zone, ball house, train, boat swing, charak, super chair, water fountain, etc. for the entertainment of the children.
The parents were happy to get such an attractive arrangement for the children, because of Covid-19 there was no place to hang out with the children.

There are more than 20 CCTV cameras for security at the fair and the administration is keeping a close watch to maintain peace and order.
