The turn-out was not good and I was only able to get my girlfriend to sign up. As a result, I decided to put the meet-up on hold and reorganize it for another time. I do admit that I did not go out of my way to advertise this to the Calgary Local Guide community. So next time, I will work harder to make the meet-up a success!

When I first created the meet-up, I was surprised because mine was the only one scheduled in Calgary. There wasn’t any other upcoming ones. So it seems there isn’t much of a Local Guides community on Connect here, or even much in Canada for that matter.
However, I was able to connect with some people through the discussions in the comments section of the meet-up so that was cool.
This experience made me realize I need to do a better job of discovering other Local Guides in Calgary to create a more engaged community. After searching around different discussion forums on Connect, I found several posts where people had already expressed interest to create more meet-ups in Calgary. Hopefully I will be able to get the ball moving with those groups and organize something very soon!

@Oscar_Kwok no not yet, there is not much going on in Istanbul recently. Actually I’m planning to held a meet up in Istanbul just like you. However, I’m kinda worried about if i end up with my boyfriend as well;))
@Kadriye Yes you should and make it Lego themed as well haha. I will admit that I didn’t put in too much effort in advertising this meet-up because there were other local guides in Calgary and I could’ve messaged them directly. I will try harder for the next one =D
