{Recap} Knowledge Sharing Meetup & Accessibility Walk towards Rural Karachi

Hello local guides, today I want to share the Recap of my Seventh Knowledge sharing Meetup in Karachi. And it was about Accessibility information on Google Maps, Google maps contributions , Local Guides Connect, 360 Photography and Clean the World Campaign.

Basically it was An Accessibility walk, but due to some security reasons as the area was near Sensitive area, we had to made it short and I would like to say my fellow local guide Swalay who arranged a knowledge sharing session at Azm e Nojawan Youth Center in very short notice.

Sharing Knowledge about Google Maps and Local Guides Connect by Slides On LED

Azm E Nojawan Youth Center :
Azm E Nojawan Youth Center is situated in remote area of Karachi, Ibrahim Haidary which is near Port Qasim and Arabian Sea and that area is quite far from the center of Karachi. You can check Google Maps review of Azm E Nojawan Youth Center here.

I want to apperciate these impressive people who are providing quality education and chance to do something for thier commuties by arranging different sessions in Youth center. And I m really Grateful to my fellow local guide @user_not_found who invited me and took care all the arrangements for this wonderful Knowledge Sharing session there

Our sessions :
As usual the session had different steps,
And as usual I tried to add important subjects such as importance of wheelchair accessibility at different places and adding these information on Google maps for guidance which was very new topic for attendees.
There were around fifteen Students males and females with different ages group who attended this meetup.

Google maps and local guides connect :
Swalay started with the introduction of team,( Swalay and me :slightly_smiling_face: ) And than he started with Google maps, and I took control on computer to run the slides which I prepared for presentation.

As usual in this seventh knowledge sharing session we tried to explain to the students that what are the benefits if they contribute to improve the map of world and specially Pakistan with the slides on LED screen, so they can understand more clearly what he want to explain them.

They know very well how to use Google maps for directions and for reach to destinations. But today they were learning how to contribute by thier reviews, uploading pictures, add new places, check the facts, questions/answers, add missing informations about places and how to help other people by Google maps program.

Than we briefed them about local guides connect, how they can join local guides connect forum, which are the categories where they can write thier blogs about travel, food and drinks, thier local city stories, meetups and how they can get answer by the other local guides, Connect Moderators and Google Moderators , if they feel any difficulty or have questions in thier mind about Google maps.

As an expert of 360 photography and street view pro, Swalay teach them how they can take 360 photos by thier normal phones , how to add them by street view app and how it looks when you will see on Google maps photos. The techniques which Swalay shared, it was amazing for me too, because I never use my mobile phone for 360 photos like that.

Accessibility :
I really love to explained them how they can mention the places by thier reviews about wheel chairs accessibility entrance , washrooms and sitting arrangements to help those people who really need these informations before thier visit to any place as I learn from my fellow local guides.

And further I shared information about #oneAccessibility Initiative and the great volunteer work from wonderful local guides around the world for this noble cause.

Clean the world campaign :
Where we were, basically this area is just near to Arabian Sea, and very famous for fishing and Sea food industry. That’s why it was necessary to tell them about Clean the world project.
That program is for all, for every age students , youngsters or old people. I was again there to explain them about the bad effects of plastic pollution not just on the marine life, but human too, and it was a right decision. I used all the great information about Marine pollution which I learn from Clean the world project posts and practicals.
We teached them to not throw any plastic stuff and other garbage in to sea or beach.
We tried to explain them that how much dangerous it is if someone throw garbage specially plastic bottles, plastic bags, and other stuff in to the sea.

So that was a great experience for me , I really love what I m doing now, and again I was feeling satisfaction in myself when I saw the youth of Pakistan, that still many people are in this world, who not think just for material and money, but they really serving people without any lust of benifit. And we should learn by them.

After meetup, we had dinner together of Paratha & BarBq at [Meerut Kabab Restaurant](http:// https://maps.app.goo.gl/UPwiboDmKLfrsFco8) .

Thank you.
