At approximately 3:00 PM, my family and I went to the beach spot that had been chosen for the cleanup. We agreed to divide the day’s tasks: Me and my son (Abdul Wahab) went to clean up the beach, while my wife and daughter stayed to prepare the scrumptious BBQ meals.
The beach site which was selected for this meetup is in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia in the Dhahran city. The beach was less crowded, and everyone was enjoying themselves by the mild tides coming from the Arabian Sea. As my son loves playing in the water, he decided to collect the plastic bags from the shallow water. Plastic bags, cigarette stubs, food packets, caps and lids, fishing nets, and socks littered the beach’s front. I was astonished to find so many plastic bags stuffed with burnt charcoal discarded on the beach. Coal contamination has been shown to have far-reaching adverse effects on the marine ecosystem. Toxins generated from coal have the potential to harm marine life. Many packs of charcoal were carefully collected from the beachfront and deposited in trash cans. The most difficult part of the cleanup was removing the jagged surface pebbles coated in white barnacle shells that were abundant at the shoreline. Barnacles can have sharp edges that can injure and sicken people. We gently removed the black rocks with barnacle shells and relocated them away from the people. Overall, it was a lot of fun organizing this event with my family and cleaning a significant amount of trash off the beach. I intend to report the unsafe dumping of used charcoal at the beach to the appropriate authorities so that they may take the required steps to reduce pollution at the beach.

Congratulations for another successful meet-up and a very inspiring motivation for other local guides. Meet-up doesn’t have to be about a huge crowd of local guides,it’s about achieving something and motivating other to do the same. If they are there fine if not move on with your meet-up. I do really appreciate your courage been a lover of meet-up and interactions.
I will also like to thank your loving wife and very special son for participating in this local guides meet-up. They are your good support.
I am beginning to think about cleaning some beach around me as soon as I get the chance to do so. I am quite busy at e moment though, maybe in the nearest future. Happy guiding.
