[RECAP] Kick Off Dinner Prior to CL19

Every year, before attending the Connect Live, we try to organize a dinner meetup where we all can meet unofficially, before the actual event, and make new friends.

This year we organized it prior to the roadtrip, which was also a part of our pre Connect Live activities. Even though the meetup was open for all Connect Live attendees but apparently it turned out to be the roadtrip participants only.

We met at a local Veg restaurant called Veggie Grill in Santana Row, near San Jose. The trendy restaurant was pretty well decorated and had enough space to offer for a group of 5.

Yes, we were a group of 5. @AnuradhaP , @SanyaOdare , @vvbellur , Avanthi and of course, me.

We reached the venue at 6.30 pm.

The restaurant was somewhat a little crowded. However, we found a good place to sit. As it’s a vegetarian restaurant, we did not have to worry about a lot of food restrictions. We still had a little trouble finding spicy food though. Vandana, being a South Indian and Anuradha and Avanthi, being Sri Lankan, they were craving for spicy food. Not sure if they found their expected level of spice in the food or not. But I enjoyed my portion.

We discussed about our upcoming roadtrip which was about to start the next early morning. The meetup lasted for about an hour, till we finished our food and the discussion.

Then we headed to our temporary nest, where we all were staying together before hitting the road.

I wont say it was one of the best meetups. But it helped us mingle with each other before starting a 4 days long roadtrip. Even though we all knew each other from our previous Connect Live participation. But still, meet up is always a fun way to make a good start of a new friendship.

What do you think?
