Another year is coming to an end in a blink of an eye, and this year especially, time has passed incredibly quickly when our minds were just so focused on dealing with Covid-19. Kerala Local Guides came together for a virtual meetup with evening tea, snacks, and community discussion on how we can all make 2021 a much better year.

We started after greeting and getting to know each other. We had close to 30 people joining in between, and what made us really happy was that there is always some new members, meaning the community the growing.

Most of us were surprised we already had 40 meet-ups as a community.
We spent a bit of time introducing Local Guides Connect to the newer members, helping and teaching how to navigate and post on Connect.

And we spent a good 20 minutes chatting and discussing what we could plan to make the community more active next year. Some of the notes included

Making localized district communities, so each local district can more easily meet up for more local programs

Having members being more active in Local Guides Connect, to make more friends from all over the country and the world

Planning more meet-ups in the coming year, to contribute to accessibility, supporting local businesses, champion social issues, and more

Continue to keep Google Maps clean from spammers and scammers

Continue to contribute high quality contributions to Maps

So, with renewed earnest, we bade farewell to the end of the year that was not, and welcome the new 2021 as it rolls in.
