On Friday, February 15th, I attended the Kansas City Barbecue Crawl. I organized this meet-up to share my love for this city through the delicacy called barbecue. I choose 12 of the Top Kansas City’s Barbecue Restaurants to visit for lunch, 2nd lunch, and dinner. This also gave individuals opportunities to join the group at different points of the crawl. I also added a game component, bingo, to the event that enhanced the entire experience. Sadly, due to the weather conditions only a few people were able to join and shortened but we all had a great time!
I planned a driving tour for the crawl that starting at The Original Kansas City Joe’s and ending at Smokin’ Guns (Due to weather the BBQ CrawI ended at the Jack Stack). I wanted everyone to try a variety of barbecue styles that Kansas City has to offer. From burnt ends to sugar and/or vinegar based sauces this city has it all! See pictures below:
It’s said that food is a gateway to the soul coupled with great conversation I couldn’t have asked for better time! We all added ratings, added/edited reviews, and took new photos. I’ll definitely be creating another Meet-Up to get even more people together in the near future!!!
