A virtual meet-up of Kanpur Local Guides was organized today on the occasion of Word Environment Day. Our physical meet-up is already proposed for 17th June. Today our Meet-up proposal was approved at connects platform, so I thought I should communicate this news to my fellow LGs. So I sent a virtual meet-up message to all the 13 local guides who have filled out the participation confirmation form til yesterday. Today 7 of them @Vishalbharat @Aaryn @Jerry_Liqo19 @mayank-awasthi @Vishalahuja878 @Shekharyadav and myself were present in the virtual meet-up which was organized at google meet. We congratulated each other for getting approved our meet-up proposal. As today is World Environment Day so we discussed the theme of the day also.
We decided to adopt the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mantra for a better tomorrow. We appreciated the campaign of our connect moderator @Cecilita to create a list of places that recycle. The campaign was started on 17th May on the occasion of International Recycling Day. We decided to prepare a comprehensive list of recycling centers in Kanpur and post it in the thread of the above campaign.
At the end of the meeting Mission Life Pledge was taken by the local guides- " I pledge to make all possible changes in my daily life to protect the environment. I also commit to continuously motivating my family, friends, and others about the importance of environmentally-friendly habits."
