Hello Local Guides, the most awaited 193th meetup of Bangladesh Local Guides has been held at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur (DUET) in the Gazipur district this Friday.
It was a beautiful day indeed. The scorching sun doesn’t hit us because we were covered with trees in the precinct of Shaheed Minar of DUET. We started the meet-up at 4 pm. We discussed many things during the meetup. As there were some new members, we started with the introduction of ourselves. After that the introduction of Google maps, Road mapper, and Connect forum.
Since they contribute sometimes to Google Maps, we discussed how can someone write proper reviews of a place & add informative photos which can help a person to get an idea about that place. We also talked about Connect Forum including how to write posts in different sections, share kudus with different countries’ people, sharing own ideas with the world. We also discussed BDLG’s program, our vision with mapping & how to build the community even stronger.
After the session of discussion, we took some snaps with the new members on the premises of Shaheed Minar.
Then we go for Photowalk around the campus. We visited the old academic building, Syed Nazrul Islam academic building, Textile building, DUET central Mosque, Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Hall, Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall, Dr. Qudrat-E Khuda Hall, Dr. FR Khan Hall, Shahid Muktijoddha Hall.
After the Photowalk, we sat in the DUET central field & took snacks together. It was a wholesome & magical moment at the end of the day. With the snacks, we also conducted the Q&A session.
After finishing the snacks in the open place, we went out for tea in a tea stall. We shared some funny things about ourselves & got to know more about each other.
Lastly, we took farewell to everyone.
The new members were very enthusiastic & they said from now on they will try to contribute quality in Google Maps including Connect Forum.
