International Women’s day Meet up with Aunty 72 ( 6th March 2021).
The meet up started at 7pm IST. I wanted the main guest of the meet up Premla Hingorani Aunty to be comfortable with the laptop setup. Even it was a hectic schedule and chaotic travelling, she managed to keep her promise to attend our meetup right before the schedule, and doing all this at the age of 76, she is just unbelievable. Salute to her!! No doubt she is a star of our colony.
Total attendance: 15 LGs (few men also attended the meet up and but left as they saw all ladies there even if there was no rule of ONLY LADIES)
I had specially invited my mom in this meet up, to cheer her up. She had a low time after she lost eyesight of one eye and since we lost my father it had affected her mind deeply and I wanted this to be a morale booster for her. All the lovely ladies were excited to listen to Aunty 72 inspirational stories.
The meet up started with a self-introduction of attendees and I gave a brief about my journey of life so far and a small message of how important it was for me being self-reliance and confident to fulfill our financial needs.
I started with the small presentation about the activities of Aunty 72, covering watering plants, cleaning the beach, teaching children, Aunty running in garden and 100 Medals, 40 Trophys of her including some photos of Marathons she participated. When I welcomed Aunty 72 with a round of applause; all the faces of the ladies lit with happiness on the screen of the meet-up.

Then Aunty started sharing her journey and she told everyone about her family and she also shared the story how she was named as Google Aunty 72.
She also gave some MANTRAS:
- First one was of the anger management and how anger affects the health and spoils the relations and how she is able to manage that. The best solution she gave to all us was to have an “Anger Fasting” once a week instead of Food Fasting. I agreed with this point as whenever I got angry, my BP had shot up and it disturbed my entire.
- Aunty 72 next mantra was “Each One Teach One Inspire one". As she was very confident that it will definitely make the world a beautiful place to live in.
- The next mantra was “Be Happy And Have A Big Smile”. Every morning when you wake up; first look at the picture of your Parents or the God and have a Big Smile on Your Face and see your day will be a good one.
- “Never Blame Others Never Blame God” if something wrong happens with you. If you have any problems with anyone then the best way to resolve is discussing with that personal and sort out immediately. Every problem has a solution else it is the situation and you have to accept or leave it and move ahead.
- Lastly; she shared the secret of her health by encouraging us eat lots of veggies, fruits, drink plenty of water and how helpful it is to go for a walk every day. She goes for running and walking every day since her childhood.
It was an absorbing session for all of us and she shared her experiences and knowledge with us. We had followed with Question Answer Session. It is tough to note all but summing it up with few ones - What does keep you so much active and how can I motivate my mom? (Falguni)
Ans: Aunty told her to keep her moving and engaged with something every day. Keeping your legs “garam” (don’t sit at one place), keep your stomach “naram” (light food keeps your brain cool). - How to overcome depressive tendency, which is visible in working ladies as some unable to handle workload and kids and even daily house hold work? (My Question)
Ans: She replied that Aunty said if you are with positive mind the question of depression will not come, and if you face any problem first think how to solve that problem and if you have problem with your husband or any one at home sit on a table together and solve it immediately shake hands and move ahead in life. - How many hours do you sleep? (Sophie Fusion)
Ans: she said she sleeps for 7-8 Hours a day. Her day starts at as early as morning at 6am and after keeping herself busy entire day, she goes for sleep at 10 or 11 in the night. Keeping busy for the day keeps her fit till now. - Do you have a garden to grow veggies or buy from super market? (Erna La Beau)
Ans: She explained that she personally visit the market to buy it also cook herself. She also does all house hold work by herself too. She does not have a garden since she is stays in the apartment. - How many grand children do you have? ( Docs_dells)
Ans: One grand daughter she is 11 years old. Aunty has 2 children, but her daughter decided not to have kids as she wants to help controlling population and she respected her decision. She said she doesn’t interfere in their life. - During Pandemic we had changing our life, forced us to make lots of adjustment not only physically but mentally as well. What would suggest or give any tips or share your secrets to stay strong during such disturbing scenario? ( Indah Nuria Savitri.)
Ans: Aunty hinted that when you see around with people who suffered human loses and financial set back then we all should feel blessed as we are still alive, with our loved once and also some had started earnings as well. Whenever you think we are blessed as we get one more day to spend time with family. - We have to do our own work; there is lot of difference between servant cooking & by our self? (Guru Priya, she also said she still cherish her mom hand food.)
Ans: Aunty said cooking is the best exercise since it keeps you improving your stamina and it keeps you ccoking for years. If health or time does not permit you cooking everyday then please don’t stress yourself too. If your parents want to do let them cook, it will help them to keep fit too. Aunty informed that she also write articles for some magazine and that also a part of her busy schedule of 18 hours of the day. Rests are for good sleep.
In the Q & A, we also learned that she never thought of any medals or recognition while participating in any events such as marathon. It gave her pleasure just being participated and completing it. That also kept her away from any expectations and eventually anger! ( Sophie Fusion and doc _ dell’s question)
Her inspirations are her mother, her loved once, her work, her fitness. She also said the young once like us also inspired her as it reflected her youth. ( Arati Shinde) She suggested avoiding extension of office work a home after office hours and that add to stress and health suffering. She was also against recognizing house wives as non-working women whereas in reality; they work harder than anyone else.
