Hello Local Guides from all around the world! I hope you are doing very well.
I’m writing this post to tell you about another worldwide meet-up, in this case organized by amazing @LaxmiG1 because of International day of Culture (more info in her post!).
Place: Feria de Mataderos
Date: May 20th 2018
Attendees:
@ValeriaA (host)
In the meet-up webpage, 7 people said they would assist, but only 3 showed up. Of course that didn’t stop us from having an amazing time together!
Feria de Mataderos is a cultural fair that is held every Sunday, and it’s dedicated to argentinian culture, with typical music, dances, food and handicrafts.
The first thing we did was take a walk along the stands which offered all types of products! Here are some photos:
After that, we decided it was a good time for a live streaming via YouTube! It was my first time and it was great. I even used my video stabilizer which worked also great.
Here’s the video of the streaming (you might see I had some trouble at first, but then I got used to it!):
We discovered that there was a museum of argentinian history and culture, so we visited it too. I was a bit disappointed because it wasn’t taken good care of, and although you have to pay an entrance fee, the quality of the pieces is medium-low. Here are a few photos:
Argentinian history is only 202 years old, as declaration of independence from Spain was signed in 1816.
We then kept on walking a bit more and recording music and dances. Here’s the video recap (the music was recorded live!):
I hope you liked learning about my culture as much as I enjoyed telling you about it.
Here’s the shared album with photos from every attendee.
See you in the next post!
Happy Guiding! ![]()
