Recap: [In-Person] India, June 20, Where Should We Go? Ask Maps Decides!

Our first Ask Maps meetup began at Shivajinagar Metro Station, where Local Guides gathered over a cup of tea before putting the concept into action.

After a quick discussion over a cup of Tea, and sharing tips like

  1. Using built-in Gemini in Maps to update business information in a natural language.
  2. Using Google Cam app to upload 360° photos.
  3. Using Ask Maps feature to search for “museums nearby within 500 meters, that remain open till 9:30 pm”
we then used Ask Maps to help us decide our next destination. The recommendation was Lakaki Lake, and without a predefined plan, we proceeded towards the location together.
Here is a video and an image of me using the Ask Maps feature

Lakaki Lake is a beautiful and picturesque spot, offering a peaceful escape amidst the city. Although there hasn’t been much rainfall in the past few days and the water levels were noticeably low, the location still had its own charm and provided a wonderful setting to explore, interact, and appreciate the surroundings.

A big thank you to @TusharSuradkar @AjitThite and @AjitSahane for your presence, enthusiasm and participation.
We’d love to see this meetup concept grow beyond Pune. Feel free to host an Ask Maps meetup in your own city or neighbourhood :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hey @framesbysumedh, awesome recap! Using the ‘Ask Maps’ feature to decide the meet-up spot is such a cool idea. What places did it recommend around Shivajinagar? Would love to see the food pics! :raising_hands:

The Ask Maps recommended a lake garden nearby the meet-up location but we stopped by a Tea Shop to refresh ourselves :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

A fabulous meetup and a great new idea, dear @framesbysumedh

I loved the theme of searching for a surprise suggestion using the Ask Maps feature in Google Maps.

Today was a memorable meetup since we found one of the iconic parks of Pune using ASK Maps

Looking forward to the next Ask Maps meetup - I will host it :handshake:

Sehr schöne Zusammenfassung @framesbysumedh!

Die Auswahl eines Ortes durch “Frag Maps” ist interessant.

Mir hat der See und die Landschaft gut gefallen, schön auch die Vögel zu sehen, die dankbar für das Wasser sind. :folded_hands:
