Introduction
Hello Everyone, On 8th Feb 2025, We Local Guides meetup at Yamuna Biodiversity Park was an exciting opportunity to explore and document this ecological gem. We started early to witness migratory birds in their natural habitat, learn about the park’s transformation from floodplains to a thriving biodiversity zone, and discuss conservation efforts(for Native Fruit Plants and Medicinal Plants) from a Joint Collaboration between DDA and Delhi University

We discussed the importance of sharing detailed and helpful reviews, highlighting the park’s inspiring journey. Guide Amit Solanki shared how the conservation efforts began—from a barren, infertile land to a thriving biodiversity hub. Every plant was carefully introduced from different regions, and dedicated trails were created for visitors to explore and appreciate Delhi’s diverse species. As one of the world’s largest cities, Delhi’s biodiversity must be protected, making such efforts crucial for ecological balance.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We learned how different plants and grasses are used to make modern medicines. It was also surprising to know that leopards live in Delhi, one of the biggest cities in the world. Thanks to the park’s conservation efforts, many animals, including Nilgai, have a safe place to live. This shows how important it is to protect nature, even in busy cities like Delhi.
