Recap: [Hybrid] India, January 12, Exploring Deer Park, Delhi - Lg10 Anniversary celebration Meet-up

Hello Local Guides,

Deer park brings a lot of great childhood memories. Yesterday 12th January Sunday at 1 pm I met @Ssiddharth2000 Amit Sharma, Remya Nair and her daughter Kuhu along with her friend Aditi. We explored Hauz khas village market while going to Alauddin Khilji fort (Deer Park Fort) it’s a very picturesque historical place. It has a beautiful architecture with scientific/true arch. It has a huge place called madarsa where students used to study , they had gatherings,in evening when the lights lit up the park and the fort both looks so beautiful…

Then we went to the main Deer park.

It is covering total of 12 kms area with multiple entry and exit gates connected internally to Hauz Khas Village, safdarjung enclave and green park. We enjoyed a stroll through the deer park, lake and fort. We also updated maps location for local businesses. Also played badminton :badminton::badminton:, eat delicious :yum: Ram laddu.
Meet up ended around 6 pm with a lovely cup of tea from Hauz khas business- village tea stall.

Here is a link of few of the pics from our stroll:

“Light shines brighter in dark” is in context of the historical significance of this park as Delhi’s AQI is detoriating every moment but still till today Deer park is called Lungs of the city due to its lush greenery and serene location with peacocks, parrots, ducks, deers and monkey.
P.S. i will be uploading more photos to this connect page.

Excellent recap of the Meet-up @ShreyaMusings I must say it was an amazing debut for your meet-up. We definitely has a lot of fun time along with gaining valuable information about the fort and the lake situated in Hauz Khas. It certainly piqued my interest even more related to the heritage of my Delhi. The Madrasa along with the lake was once the epitome of knowledge where scholars from around the world came to learn. It’s sad to see the fort in ruins, wish the ASI could take up more conservation steps to restore the structures in this place. Adding few more pictures of our meet-up.
