In the dead of winter each year at Central Park in Malvern East an inner suburb of the great city of Melbourne the local council organises a small Winter Arts Festival around the theme of glow. This year there were glowing sculptures, laser shows, light canons and simpler things like hanging lights. I added to the fun by doing some light painting for the people who had come along. This was a fairly small Meetup with only four Local Guides (one who didn’t find us - but I recognised her photos on socials). The weather was freezing and it had been raining all day so I’m not that surprised I didn’t get a bigger turn out. We had a great time anyway starting with pizza at Central Park Pizza then over to the show where we spent a few hours wandering around the park enjoying the sites and making photos.
Hi @OmerAli this is a device I made, it has a string of addressable LED with a small controller and a battery box to provide 5volt power. The LED string is cable tied onto the face of a small plastic wheel I had left over from a construction project. Light painting is a lot of fun.
Very nice @PaulPavlinovich
I liked the idea.
I use 2,3 torches of different light intensity and sometimes put a finger on the lens which gives the reddish flare. Absolutely in love with light painting and long exposures
@PaulPavlinovich Beautiful and would love to see it… Thanks for sharing…
It is a whole new dimension to the creativity of photography @OmerAli and I agree it is a lot of fun. I also do it with fire but I’ve not tried making shapes or letters with that, just patterns. I’m too worried about a fire poi hitting me in the head. That happened once and I still have a bald patch in my beard four years later!
