Hello Everyone

I am very pleased to write this re-cap for the amazing meetup we had to celebrate LocalGuidesConnect (LGC)'s anniversary.

A big thanks to @KashifMisidia bhai for the excellent idea and really pleased to be a part of it. Luckily we had the closing ceremony of GeorgeTown Annual Arts Festival on the same date/venue.

Here’s a short Re-cap for our meetup. Only this time, we’ll let photos do the talking.

Location: GeorgeTown Malaysia [ Have you tried Google Maps Lists before? well, give it a go, they are fun way to explore. Here’s one which will help you the next time you are in GeorgeTown ]

We gathered at COFFEE AFFAIRS GeorgeTown, where brother Alsmie introduced me to his friend Amin ( soon to be a Local Guide - Well, I pushed him real hard ). I had one of the finest discussion sessions with this great guy, wow.

As the main event started at 5:00 PM, we left the cafe’ for our photo walk. The idea was simple, capture the buildings and other resources that we could update on Google Maps later and also to cover bit of the event and share it with you guys.

But, first things first. We had a Ricoh Theta V with us [ Thanks to Google once again ], that means we had 360 photos as well that looked something like this

We had a great time on the photo walk as there was so much activity around.

Its amazing to know how many LocalGuides we had around. I met 3 other LocalGuides during the event and its so fascinating to see our community grow.

The way I see it is to spread the love and do the right thing and I see these values embedded in our community, which is why it is so inviting and addictive the same time.

You know what I love I your recaps, it’s sense of humor which always makes me smile.

I really love all photographs and each and every word of your recap.

And you know I have great memories with George Town, because a lovely friend of mine lives there. (Dariya key Us Paar) :heart_eyes:

Wow!!! I had been looking forward to this recap and finally it is here. Those were awesome photos you had bro @OmerAli , thank you for sharing with us. I really missed it, and have been so busy lately. I look forward to subsequent meet-ups to meet you all. Cheers!!!

Thanks a lot @Ant_Bad_Yogi , it was a great event. I liked the Aerial rope performance the best as we were near the stage and it was thrilling to watch it, up so close. There’s something about GeorgeTown that makes you fall in love with it, I cannot put it properly to words but I feel happy here, I really do :slight_smile:

@OmerAli Such a wonderful meetup brother Omer. Im very happy for the 2nd time we meetup together took a great photos and exploring the event and surrounding place. Hope can meet you again explore more places in Penang island. Feel free to let me know if you in Georgetown, if im free maybe we can photo walk again.

@OmerAli I thought you live in Pakistan, do you? What are you doing in Georgetown? You may try to explain why you love it. I will try to read and understand your reasons. Perhaps write a post why you fall in love with Georgetown.

I am from Pakistan but currently in Malaysia for my PhD and happen to live just near around GeorgeTown.

I have many reasons as to why I love this city, perhaps, I am going to write a complete post about it - soon
