Last year also I’ve organised the same purpose meetup to help the kite fighters in purchasing the best quality kites and threads. You can find out the last year meetup recap here
This time we visited 2 kite markets of Hyderabad, one is Dhoolpet kite market and the other one is the Gulzar Houz kite market. On the first day, we met at Dhoolpet and ambled around the whole market in search of the best quality kite material at cheap prices.
On the second day, we visited the Gulzar Houz kite market and found a lot of difference between these two kite markets. This market is flourished with both kites and customers. There were a lot of customers compared to the Dhoolpet market. We’ve met some of them (kite shop owners) and enquired about the price difference then they said this is the oldest market of Hyderabad nearly 100 years old. And do you know people from across the state come to this market to purchase kite stuff? He also guided us to the main manufacturing unit of kites and unbeatable threads. See the below picture (top-right) an expert is making manjha by applying crushed glass, fevicol, colour and other substances.
Overall, we’ve added the kite shops which were not on Maps and that kite manufacturing unit as well, added reviews of the visited shops, corrected the locations where necessary and added a huge number of photos.
Finally, we got tired after roaming all across the markets and were so hungry and decided to have some quick bites at 65 Corner. We ordered Chicken 65, roti, fried rice and noodles. All of were #####, I will not say just see the picture below and predict.
Mouthwatering dishes isn’t it?
