[RECAP] Explore Bangalore Food Street

Hello Guys. ?

I had my first ever Local Guides meet up organised at Namma Bengaluru, The silicon City of India.

Since it was my first ever meet up, i was well prepared with my camera and places to visit and things to try but was nervous. It was a Food Crawl organised at Bangalores Vegetarian Food Street, the VV Puram Food Street.

Me along with 3 other local guides @APJP , @wanderingsoulsugam and @ujjawalsharma explored the food street completely.

The initial plan was to assemble at the iconic VB bakery. So all of us arrived at V.B. bakery by 6:30 PM as per schedule. The food street is known for night life. Hence the meet up was scheduled at 6:30 PM.

After arriving, we all introduced ourselves to each other. We had traveled around 22 Kms to reach the destination. It was great to know the fellow LGs. All four of us in the meet were from different states of India. We also got to understand the diversity the respective states have.

At V.B Bakery we all then had the most iconic delicacy called the Dumroot. We had it, it was extremely tasty so we also wanted to know what it was made of. So in that crowded store we managed to ask the cashier on what Dumroot was made of. Its a dessert (Halwa) made of Pumpkin. We felt really good knowing the ingredient.

We then went along the street to the next store. There are multiple stores that are available on food street with each offering different delicacies. We then went to Arya Vysya Refreshments. This Place is well Known for Mosaru Kodubale. Mosaru is basically curd and this kodubale is made with curd hence the name Mosaru Kodubale. All of us had this and we enjoyed the flavor.

We then went to Sai idly store. The store offers some hot hot idlies that shouldn’t be missed. So all of us went here and had their hot tatte idlies. We then spoke along about LG community, how each one of us are contributing. Also, we then looked into the phone numbers and listings on maps and saw if there are any corrections required. We then headed to the next spot, Dev Sagar.

At Dev Sagar, there are again a lot of delicacies to try, but the most famous is their Dabeli. The Dabeli is made of Buns with amazing tangy Indian fillings. The flavors are amazing and its a must try at Food Street. All of us loved the dabeli. We clicked lot of pictures and then moved on.

We then also had a quick bite of hot Jalebi from Rajastani Store. The Jalebi was just fabulous. But the finisher was from Shivanna Gulkand store. Gulkand is basically a sweet used in Pan (Bida). And this place serves amazing gulkand with Ice cream which is not to be missed. We savored the dessert and then spoke again about the evening we all just had. The walk went well and we felt really good meeting each other.

Cheers to the wonderful local guides community which houses such amazing people.
