As all of us know, nothing goes as planned. But flexibility is actually one of my better qualities and therefore I’m super happy with today’s outcome!
I had planned a food crawl, and the theme was - lowest rated restaurants. Why? Because everyone deserves a second chance. If you want to read more about my idea, check out my meet-up.
As the day came closer, the people who were gonna attend contacted me and said they sadly couldn’t make it today. C’est la vie, I managed to bring my wonderful, supporting, partner Marcus instead. Big thanks to him who kept me company all day!
So, we decided to try out three out of the four restaurants I had planned to visit today, simply because we figured four restaurants for two people was too many. Let me now walk you through our day:
We started at Restaurang Sala Thai where we ordered a Red curry cream chicken. Even though we were the only guests in the restaurant, we didn’t get served by the table and the staff seemed to have a generally low interest in giving good service. The taste was good but the chicken overcooked. Sadly, we could totally understand the low ratings of this restaurant and had to agree with the vast majority. 2/5.
Next up was Il Forno con Tapas. This place was actually bigger than I expected and just as the previous restaurant we were the only guests there. We sat down by a table and a server took our order. We waited for almost 30 minutes to get four tapas dishes and what arrived at our table could easily have looked more appetizing. I would say that the tapas dishes were bigger compared to other tapas restaurants around but the quality was sadly not great. Quite an expensive place, especially in comparison to the quality of the food but I’ve eaten worse. 3/5
We kept on walking and headed for Da Capo Restaurant Stockholm but apparently, that place had shut down and was nowhere to be found. We decided to instead of keep on doing that stroll of low rated restaurants (that clearly was low rated for a reason) going to one of my favorite fika-places. And not just my favorite, but a real classic in Stockholm. Vete-Katten was founded in 1928 by a lady named Ester Nordhammar and has been a popular café for as long as Stockholmers can remember. If you ever visit Stockholm, you have to stop by here.
Hi @Linnea . Thanks for sharing . Hope u enjoyed it . I like ur spirit u went alone . Hope i could have join u but I’m too far away . Best luck for ur second round . Keep sharing keep smiling.
I really love the creativity behind coming up with such a concept @Linnea . And the outcome seems to confirm that the average rating already on maps is actually a pretty good indicator of real life
Es muy meritorio lo que realizaste @Linnea , darle una segunda oportunidad y tratar de confirmar las malas referencias, o mejor dar una opinión mejor que las que existen.
@Abdoado the portion at the Thai restaurant was a normal size main dish. On the the tapas restaurant we ate tapas so they were smaller. But my savior was Marcus, he is a way better eater than me. (Would be weird if he wasn’t since he’s 198 cm tall and I’m only 164 cm)
@JanVanHaver thank you very much! I really went in with an open mind and wanted to prove the ratings wring but sadly they were right. But totally worth a try!
@FaridTDF ¡gracias señor! I’m happy you liked the concept and even though I wished to prove people wrong I had a great time experiencing this with an open mind
@Linnea It seems quite challenging, come to a restaurant that we know has a low rating. Thank you for sharing your experience. This inspired me as well.
@Linnea it’s not about size, I’m 175 and I think I can eat more than both of you :D, when people wonder how come I’m slim, I tell them I eat that much otherwise I would disappear :))
but really your post is great and it’s the kind of posts that can give me good mood.
say hi and thank you to your saviour because he made this post possible .
@Abdoado Hahaha, I know it’s not all about size but since he’s a lot bigger than me he needs more calories in a day to survive than I do. Also, his tummy can fit more food than mine I’ll tell him hi from you and thank you again for enjoying my post!
