[Recap] Discover Krakow

On Saturday (18.05.2019) we have had a interesting meetup in Krakow/ Cracow / Poland.

It was nice to meet @Rodrigo again after 5 month.

The meetup did start in a “interesting” atmosphere, as on the same day was an LGBT parade in Krakow and without I did know at our meeting point the meeting of the homophobians. But this is not the part of the Recap story now.

Like many times, but not always, I was a little bit sad, that no real polish local guides did show up, but you have to read to the end…

As Rodrigo came with his bike, we decided to make a bicycle meetup here in Krakow. What is really nice, that there are a lot of public bike rental stations and when registered once, it is the easiest way to move inside the town. As well because Krakow has developed a quite good bicycle road network.

We decided to go to the south of Krakow. On the way there we did visit the Place of Heroes in the former Jewish Ghetto. https://goo.gl/maps/NdWidrsXjNWqSzWn6 . It is the place where the Polish Jews did wait for the transport to camps like Auschwitz. When they were taken away, they left an empty chairs. So you find big empty chairs on this place.

From there we decided to walk to the Kopiec Krakusa https://goo.gl/maps/nsnZhExqMGwWrn7r5 . On the way to Kopiec Krakusa you can find the color stair steps… I did know that they exists somewhere in Krakow, but only due to Rodrigo I made it to this place.

When we arrived the Kopiec Karkusa it was totally overcrowded, because as we are lucky local guides, we have had the really outstanding good weather and a Selfi session did start

It is not the best picture we took, but as this is a recap for Local Guides, we invite you to check the pictures on Google Maps, if you are interested.

After 3 hours we arrived finally a bar, while we only have had a ice cream and could enjoy a glass of beer. The bar is quite cool. I did know the place only from outside but Local Guides show to each other the world, and Rodrigo guided me there https://goo.gl/maps/77y5MuGrD5fg8mQf7 .

The meetup did end here, as Rodrigo was going to leave for a Brazilian Dance party. So I went to the pub Klub Buda https://goo.gl/maps/Zf4hJQWF7Gkbekb56 and did promote the local guide program. And…

we have one more member in our community!!!

I hope TB will join us, when we celebrate the next meetup in Krakow.

Very nice meet-up, @TorM !

It seems like it was very relaxing, and it had so many diverse nice things to see: the rainbow stairs, the chairs, and even a new Local Guide! Definitely a successful meet-up

Congrats and thank you for sharing the recap!

Thank you @helga19 and @Jesi

Meetups are so interesting. For me it is really the key benefit of this community. I think I never would have met so many different people from around Europe without this option

I think a lot of local guides love exactly what they do not have, so ALL Meetups around the world are great . They are always fantastic because we meet each other and maybe they are always greater, because all of us love to see new places.

Anyway, My biggest dream is to visit once Israel :israel:. For sure I will do this before entering the heaven
