[ Recap ] Colombo Meetup : "When SriLankan Local Guides met a Pakistani Local Guide"

Hello local guides

Here am I, sharing one of the most wonderful recap of Colombo Meetup .

I love traveling, anywhere, I’m ready for it anytime. Travelling and learning from new people and from their cultures is so passionate for me.

Colombo meetup is one of the most beautiful memories of my Sri Lanka trip and life time learning experience as well.
I planned a trip for Thailand, Malaysia and Srilanka. I had great time in Penang Malaysia with @OmerAli after Malaysia I reached Colombo on 5th of March 2019. And here in Colombo, how could I miss the chance to meet my dearest friends and awesome local guides from Srilanka.
That’s the reason for hosting a Meetup named “Colombo Meetup” at Diyatha Uyana.

The time which we had fixed was 5:30 pm but due to rush hours, we had started our meetup a bit late.
When I reached there, I was warm welcomed by

My host in Colombo

@IlankovanT and my new friends

@lahirusu @TaralaNayanaD @ThanulakshanS

@Shafranlive

@Kumaran_thanga

@Amilamadushan

At first, we had started to introduce ourselves, because I didn’t know most of the people there but I had always been watching their pictures on connect in different activities, but meeting them for the first time in person, that had made me more excited.

We talked there on the round table with sandwiches and drinks, most of the talk that had taken place was regarding Google Maps , many new informative tips we had shared with each other did come in handy.

In between, I want to admit, that all local guides there were so much passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced. I would like to appreciate all of them, because they came there to meet me, to share their experience with me, it was really an honour for me.

We walked around the park and Ilankovan guided me and told me some amazing facts about this park.

Normally, people come here to walk, chill, jog and to keep their kids busy in rides here once they’re done with their work.

Amila Madhushan, I found him to be a brilliant photographer, he took some 360 pictures , then Ilankovan and Amila gave some useful tips for taking great 360 pictures.

The funny part of that round standup meeting was bid for ilankovan’s camera ?

Unfortunately because of the dark, we weren’t able to see the 3D Art on jogging paths, but for sure next time I would definitely not miss it and will try to visit that place in day time.

The last part of the meetup was about plantation, I was amazed to hear many new facts about plants by Ilankovan, and realized why Ilankovan is running a great campaign of Let’s Map Green, because he loves it so much. Even I found Colombo is hundred times much greener than Karachi, but still he wants to do more for the environment. Really impressive.?

Meetup ended with another great 360 photo by amila, lovely gifts from my dearest friends Ilankovan and Doctor Tarala, and the best thing about the whole trip and meetup was the fact that I gained lots of new information & beautiful memories, which I brought to Karachi, Pakistan with me . All these experiences and information are really useful for my meetups here.

Shukriya ? Srilanka Local Guides for your love , generousity, gesture and warm shoulders for A learning local Guide from Pakistan.
