Recap Carbon Free Energy Source Mapping Meetup [ Virtual ]

Meetup Name: Carbon-Free Energy source Mapping Meetup

BDLG Meetup No: 144

Date: October 16, 2020

Total Attendee: 23/24

There are no such fuel resources in the world that are infinitive.

That is why gradually we are stepping towards renewable energy or carbon-free energy. As South-Asia is mostly a river -oriented region

, there is no easy-to-access electricity to many of the places, due for locating in, deserts or high-peaked mountains.

In those areas; solar panels, wind turbines are sold & few such electricity-production types of equipment are sold & used separately.

Usage of water-pumps that is run by solar panels has currently got its emphasis all over the rural areas of Bangladesh.

I talk with @TraciC in Connect Live’19, and she helps me to talk about that with other Googlers in Mountain view.

Recently Google also announced they are moving carbon-free energy sources 24/7 within 2030 So I want to arrange a virtual meetup about this topic. In this meetup.

Carbon free energy source is very friendly to nature, no pollution for power generation. Like water tide, wind mill or solar power sell are mostly used carbon free energy source. From many years ago, we are using water tide to generate electricity in Bangladesh. Now a days solar power source is also very raising option here. We can adopt electric source instead of oil as fual in our vehicles. Thanks for hosting a important meet up with important topic.

First of all, I would like to thank you @MahabubMunna for organizing a special event that is especially timely now. Despite strong desire, I suddenly fell ill and could not participate in this meetup. However, after seeing your recap post, I forgot the sadness of not being able to participate in the meetup. I would consider myself blessed to be able to participate in such meetings later. Many thanks to everyone who participated in the meetups.

It was really an amazing meetup session on Carbon Free Energy Source for Mapping. I am so glad to join in this meetup and thanks Mr. @MahabubMunna for given me opportunity to share my experience on carbon free energy in context of industrial sector. in this regard, I will be sharing more experience in future and would like to contribute continuously for enhancing google maps.

Bangladesh is rapidly developing in renewable energy sector and government has taken various initiates for using renewable energy resources to carbon free environment to reduce global warming, environmental hazard and to secure energy. In this connection, government has formed and deployed a particular department only to work for Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development since 2014. Around 140 private and Non-government organizations/companies are working in this sector in collaboration with government international development agencies to create awareness, selling energy equipment’s for using renewable energy, preventing energy waste in residential, commercial & industrial sectors by saving and conserving energy as well as ensuring its efficient use.

The remarkable good news for us that, The 27 Eco-friendly/green establishments are listed in the top 10 ranking in the world and 14 are from Bangladesh, which are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) certified from USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) . As of now, Total 144 establishments in Bangladesh has received LEED certificate received from USGBC. Also, more 540 establishments are registered for LEED certificate in various category (Platinum, Gold, Silver and General certificate).

So, there are huge scopes in Bangladesh for mapping the energy equipment’s sources for easy to reach out to all.
