[Recap] Brewery Opening Kraków

Well, to establish meetups in an area is not always easy and especially in Kraków Poland it seems to be difficult. BUT this do not change my mind to try it again and over again.

Saturday the 24th February was a great occasion to try it again, as it was linked to a brewery opening. Well no LG who was aware that he/ she is it appeared, but this didn’t desturb me in making some contributions around the new brewery and create a post about interesting issues around beer.

To get im touch with people and tell them something about contributions on GoogleMaps is not really an issue for me and anyway somehow beer make it anyway even more easier. So at least about 10 people get aware of the localguides program and Localguidesconnect as I did wear my Google Localguides Shirt, at least up to a certain Moment where listening and d…. to music made it no more possible.

Anyway, the Focus on this afternoon was on the Big efforts of the Academy Gorniczny Hurtnicze (AGH) in Kraków as they have managed a big transformation within the last years. They are no more only taking care of mining and such staff, but beside an excellent IT education they as well Invest in the food industry.

So there were several lectures around beer. Education with a glass of beer in the hand can be quite funny, but in fact beer is (real facts!) is a motor for invention! In fact it is made from real cereals and needs therefore a lot of inventions in agriculture, physics and chemistry, but has as well an Impact on developing international trade. One example is eg the cooling process for beer invented by Linde, due to a request from two breweries who need to cool the beer. An other example is the right water quality. In fact beer saves a lot of people to die due to diseases in the past.

We got a special brewery tour, as I do know the brew master from the past. You can guees where I met him first two years ago and what we did drink

The brewery process is not so easy as expected and it is a real since devision.

Conclusion for all fellow local Guides, not important If you like beer or not. Keep on organizing Meetups whereever you are. There is always a fun factor with this.

Hi, @TorM .

Yes, it’s never easy to host a meet up. Especially in certain area. We cannot make sure how many attendees that will actually showed up.

I’m sorry about your meet up. But I’m glad that you eagerly keep going with the meet up eventhough there’s no one is showed.

Have a meet up in a brewery like this looks so great. Especially when the owner could give you a tour inside their brewery. That must be great experience :))

@TorM It is nice to see you dancing. :slightly_smiling_face: It is cool that you continued the meet-up no matter what. Thank you for sharing this recap with us. How many glasses of beer did you have?

Yes, @iorikun301 , it was really a great experience! Try to have such a tour as well. Its much more complicated as I thought.

@Ant_Bad_Yogi , how many glasses ??? I guess the best answer would be: I don’t remember

@TorM It’s nice to see you continued the meet-up alone. This is a great opportunity to make others aware of the program.

Hi @TorM ,

Thanks a lot for the nice recap!

I am sorry that nobody came but the most important thing is that you had fun and you made contributions as well! Thanks for that!

I’ve read the post with a pleasure and I’ve learned a lot facts about the beer.

Once I visited a winery in my country Bulgaria and there was also such wine tour which was really interesting and I think that people can learn a lot on such tours.

Hi @TorM

Thanks a lot for sharing your recap. It shows that organising a meet-up is not easy!

The good point is that you have tested new beers and worked out your dance.

Have a nice evening

Great idea! We can organize something, maybe on Saturday? :slightly_smiling_face: Maybe there will be more people than last time

Hi @TorM ,

really sorry to read no-one did show up but that’s something we know it can happen, however I like your recap as also a solo meetup can become a very interesting experience … and I’m sure you+beer+dance is a win-win combination  .

Thank you for sharing the recap with us, and to the next beer :beers: .

Hello @Rodrigo ,

in fact I was thinking so, as you told me last time that you are evaluating if you return to Hungary. Not sure when I will be in Hungary next time, but in any case I will contact you than.
