[RECAP] - BONAMOUSSADI PHOTOWALK MEETUP

Hello Local Guides from all around the world.

We member of Douala Local Guides, held a Photowalk Meetup in Bonamousadi (Douala). This was another great opportunity to meet and discover new local guides from our area.

We started the meetup at The Bronz.Two local’s guides were around on time for the Photowalk.** @Djoni and myself, initiated a presentation in which, everybody shares his experience as local guides and explain why he like contributing to Google Maps. @Octopusia and @Sibamou **joined us later during the Photowalk.

** @Djoni **share with us his experience as one of the pioneers of Google Developer Group inCameroon. @Octopusia shared we us, his experience as digital marketing manager. As they were almost all newer in local guide program, I shared with them my experience and invited them to go as much as possible on Connect to read about the program.

Our major discussions were about.

• Adding new places

• Adding pictures to Google maps

• Adding 360° pictures in Google Maps using phone and Street View app.

@Sibamou especially, was disappointed because since two months he could not add places to google maps. Together we found a solution on how to add new places. We were so happy about this.

One important subject mentioned was to work on how to involve students and other local guides in our community to make it stronger. Discussion on going in Doula Local Guides WhatsApp group.

After those instructive exchanges, we went to practice during the Photowalk. You will find below the itinerary.

While going through this itinerary,

• Almost 05 new places were added and approved,

• 10 Place address modified,

• More than 100 pictures added to Google maps,

• Djoni and Desmond also learned and added their First Street View Picture in Google Maps,

We went to PIZZARIA to eat a pizza before closing the Meetup. I want to thank and warm hugs all Douala Local guides present to this meetup March Sunday Meetup.

Thank to Desmond who created the Instagram account for Cameroon Local Guides and organize the Pizzeria Meetup where we end up this session.

A rendezvous was taken for the next month meetup. Stay tuned for more detail. Bye

@nkwetche ,well done! Looks like you had a productive photowalk and was able to impart some of your Local Guides experiences and Google Maps knowledge and have a delicious meal all in one day.

I hate to read a fellow Local Guide is frustrated or has a Local Guides /Google Maps questions or concern. I would point out, @Sibamou , don’t wait 2 months to ask for help if you are having a problem adding places to Google Maps. Always bring your issues and questions here to Connect.
