Recap: Aurovilla Meetup, Pondicherry

Dear friends,

I am extremely sorry for making this recap after one month. For an emergency official trip I went for North Part of India, so could not write it on time.

We had our Aurovilla Meetup, Pondicherry on 30/9/2018 at 4.00pm. Including myself, there were five Local guides participated in this events.

We had a wonderful time to know each other better and explore the Aurovilla.

Aurovilla is a universal city emphasis on human unity, where people from all over the country live peace and harmony. Founder of this city was Mirrra Alfassa who is known as Mother. Aurovilla is originated from the French word “Aurore” meaning dawn and “Ville” means city.

Here the Matrimandir is the golden globe attracts the tourist. “It is a symbol of the divine answer to man’s aspiration for perfection.”

Aurovilla is divided into four zones

Residential Zone

Industrial Zone

Cultural & Educational Zone

International Zone

Not all can assess these four zones, for the public can visit Matrimandir & Main Block. Only those who are members of this community or with special invitation are only allowed to asses these zones.

Recently Aurovilla celebrated Golden Jubilee. It’s a model city, pollution free, fully solarized, Ecocentric and religious tolerance.

Accessibilities like Wheelchair entrance, Wheelchair parking available, restroom for disables, safe to bring kids, plastic-free zone, food counters, shopping counters are also available.

We as local guides had a wonderful time together in a very peaceful environment.

@JohnPeter Definitely a very successful meet up and everyone had a good time. Is that golden globe just a structure or there are things to see inside? I just looked up the map and it’s not too far from Pondi town. Maybe next time I will go visit there also.

visitors are allowed inside with prior booking ahead. It is for those who are really interested in meditation and concentration. Silence is the prime criteria. It is fully equipped with a solar power plant.

Notes: Photography is restricted in most of the places so there are much to see and experience with the only physical eye. So come and enjoy
