[RECAP] An Exclusive Virtual Meet-up on “Leaderboards” presented by CM AdamGT - TravellerG

Hi dear friends,

Before the RECAP, two questions, please:

RECAP

Before the meeting, I and our co-hosts had a couple of rounds of conference calls to share the responsibilities during the meetup and conducted a mock-up meet-up to ensure full coordination.

On the meet-up day, we also had a technical checkup (at 3:30 - in this post, all the times are expressed in IST & p.m.) to ensure the proper audio & video + presentation during the meet-up.

LGs started joining the stream by 3:45. We started the introduction of LGs by 4:00 and continued till 4:20; in all, above 50 LGs joined the meet-up.

The formal session by @AdamGT started at 4:21 and concluded the meet-up by 5:50. The presentation was conducted under the following headings:

The meet-up was extremely helpful - I have received many requests to repeat the session in different local languages. CM AdamGT systematically presented all the topics with proper demonstrations. A brief of the explanations provided during the meeting is presented by co-host Anubha in her comments.

And I understand that there are major changes happening in the Star-Photo session, soon.

The presentation was followed by a brief question-answer session.

Though the formal session was concluded with a vote of thanks, the informal session continued for almost 15 more minutes.

It was a pleasure to participate in your meet-up @TravellerG , @Anil6969 and @AnubhaBangia and to present the Top 100 Local Guides leaderboards and the System behind it to your large audience in a What, Why and How context. It certainly was a large audience and from the feedback at the end I felt that we achieved the objectives of your meet-up very well.

During question time, two Local Guides mentioned that they had problems registering for participation on the leaderboards. The problem that @ReshamDas had has since been solved (see here) and I’m hoping that from the meet-up chat window, one of you can provide me the details of the second Local Guide so that I can help him as well.

Dear @TravellerG Sir,

It was indeed a valuable meet-up event specially for those who haven’t started or just started (like me) using the Local Guide Leaderboard designed by @AdamGT .

I used to follow Adam’s posts regarding the leaderboard but didn’t signed up to the website and never had a chance to share my contribution data because of lack of knowledge about it.

After waiting a long, finally I signed up to his website last month and since then I post my contribution data to his leaderboard website weekly basis.

And this virtual event really helped me to clear my remaining confusions regarding the leaderboard and how it works.

Lastly, I would like to say thank you @TravellerG sir for arranging such wonderful event for us and thank you @AdamGT for your valuable time and commitment towards maintaining such a website full of loads of data.

Extremely happy that the meetup went very well & was appreciated by many, many LGs - of course, a couple of only Hindi LGs found it difficult.

Presence of 33 LGs towards the end was surprising even for me.

Dear friend @TravellerG , Thank you sir for how well your team organised the meet-up from the day of the announcement to recap preparation. You maintained excellent communication with all the participants so that no one missed. We have to learn a lot from you on how to host a meet-up successfully.
